Re: Tut the Legend

Complete legend. I first met him at KH in about 2004 or 2005. Like most folk, the bare feet were the first thing I noticed. I remember my first time at Fintray hill climb in the VX - he turned up and held court. Ribbed me for doing a crap time and proceeded to rib everybody else for doing crap times...

Re: Buying an Elise - any advice chap/chapettes?

I raced a bit - not as much as in previous years and my season was prematurely curtailed due to gearbox issues.

Ironically, it looks like there could be 3 or 4 MX-5s in the class next year...... I think I might have started something.

Hey Murray. Congrats on the new purchase. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun in it. Maybe catch you at Doune or Kames sometime.
Cheers,

Kev

Re: NLC: Anyone bought a mini digger?

Colin, You'd be much better hiring a man and a JCB. Last I heard the rates we were getting were around £45 per hour. As Thinfourth said, the work could probably be done in half a day. Wheeled JCB type machines are much more flexible than tracked mini-diggers which are really only good for digging sh...

Re: Winter tyres. Discuss.

After carrying my Vredestein Snowtrac 3s about in the boot of the Volvo since the end of October, I finally got around to having them refitted yesterday afternoon. I popped into Hunters of Linlithgow at 4.40pm to find around 15 folk waiting. I explained what I needed and asked if I should come back ...

Re: Group 1 car seats (Infant)

Glad you sorted out a car seat. The Britax duo plus is a good one. Check out Phil and teds for prams. You may not need one for your first but if you have a second or more, it will be unbeatable. We only got ours when we had our third sprog (that's the one when you have to accept that you're going to...

Best driving day I've ever had for sure. Well worth the trip and the cost in my book.

Re: Back Saga

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Mr Statham was my consultant (in one of his NHS clinics at the Western).

I have to say that the GP diagnosed my prolapse spot on in the first consultation and I was in for an MRI scan within a couple of weeks on the NHS.

Re: Back Saga

Good luck with the op. I had a large central prolapse last year which resulted in similar symptoms and managed to get a scan on the NHS. Fortunately the prolapse subsided but I am still getting physio (not NHS).

Re: Tosser

I would forget about him and take some measures to improve security. If he is such a tosser, he might let slip to someone that your security is lax - it just takes a bit of blether in the pub and before you know it all sorts of wrong'uns are targeting your workshop.

You still got the VX?

Re: What £5k 7 seater ?

I've got both a Seat Alhambra and a Volvo estate 7 seater and whilst the Volvo is cramped it is by far the better drive. The Alhambra has good TDi but there are some common niggles - driveshafts, springs, windscreen wipers, aux heaters all have problems so you need to buy with care. £5K will buy a d...

Re: Coffee machine (NLC)

I've looked at buying a burr grinder before but reviews are often mixed and less than helpful. Anyone have a recommendation? I don't mind having to clean it out every so often but would like one that provides a very fine even grind, I get the guys in Artisan Roast to grind to one notch off the fine...

Re: Heads up again! Would you be insured....

Despite failing Higher English twice, I still managed to get all the apostrophes in the correct place! In number two, it is assumed that the ball belongs to all of the girls and so the answer is: Tina, Lucy, Laura and Pat were playing. Jamie crept up and kicked the girls' ball. Back to the original ...
