Headlight polish

Post by Sanjøy » Sun Jan 10, 2010 6:43 pm

Having to clean the minis headlights by hand twice a day at the moment (edin-dundee commute) as the salt build up dramatically reduces performance.

Cleaned them and used autoglym glass polish today to see if that helps matters.

Any other suggestions ?

rain x or similar may make it easier to clean. Or you could chuck in some off road bulbs, will be brighter so might shine better through the crap :thumbsup

if you have a machine polisher, I find menzerna 203s polish works particularly well with a layer of a sealant on top: Blackfire All Paint Protection is great stuff.

Rain-X is also good on clean, polished glass: apply a layer, and repeat 3 or 4 times in 15 minutes.

On headlights (not glass) liquid (spray-on) wax can help a bit too if you've no sealant or rain-x.
