I'm not sure gold will work and retain the subtlety that's so cool in that pic. I know it's the proper colour, doesn't mean it'll generate the right affect. Hmm :-/

When I was researching it I did actually find an image of the colour scheme done by Lotus themselves. Apparently they were done around the same time as the type 49 as a test to see if they should do a yellow and blue version. Not a fan of the gold wheels and mine are black but I do like it....
