Not sure I agree there - the discussion is on the fact it was plop.

I only watch it for the product placement..............Omega Railmaster..........Rolex Deep Sea............IWC Portuguese Chrono

Your challenge today is to get the word "plop" into a lawyer type conversation.

I agree with DDtB.

The VW bit was maybe a bit too long but apart from that it was good.

Aston ending was epic, the subtle points made flew over the heads of most it would seem. And please, no more comparisons with 5th Gear and don't try to pretend that somehow Tiffany (lets see if I can get this car sideways) Dell and Jason (if it's not a 911 it's sh*t) Plato have suddenly transformed into fantastic car reviewers, did none of you see the recent Caterham review?
The Aston bit may have been a bit unconventional but it was still brilliant, light years beyond anything 5G could ever dream up.

I must have missed what was good about that Aston bit totally? Once someone has taken the bulk of the depreciation on one of them, I'd fancy one if i can work out if its nay good, and that was about as informative as the Telly Tubbies!

But then they no longer review cars - anyway - with Ref to Plato and Nedell, and dropping the other 3 i was talking about 5th gear. With you on that 7 review - utter Gash! Hence ref to top gear eask challenges.

Anyway, end of series

The Aston bit was trying to be arty and subtle, but was too long (and by the end of it I was so irritated wondering why Aston have taken what is a really nice looking car and put a hideous chavtastic saxo modders dream of a bonnet on it - must be to appeal to the premier league or something...

The VW bit was funny for a bit, then got old, and still didn't end. Maybe i'm growing old or just don't have a sense of humour... Is it really still funny in 2009 to make WWII jokes?!

I think TG and 5G are both in need of a revamp.

5G wise I like watching Tiff / Jason piss around in similar cars, I think they work well together and it's entertaining to watch them joking around etc plus the green guy (Jonny?) does some interesting stuff, but why is VBH confined to the website, and what's the point in the fat guy and hit sofa sidekick!?

TG - I reckon there is only so many times the same jokes can be recycled. We get it, Hammond is short, May is slow, the Stig is socially retarded and Clarkson is god.
In reviews, we know Clarkson will hate the car then 5 minutes later say it's the best car ever. then, oh, another joke about Hammond not being able to drive / having an accident *yawns*

/rant

Still, since there is barely anything else worth watching (car wise) on TV, i'll continue to watch when the next season begins!

Anybody with an opinion as to how Clarkson would fare with us on track in say a 240hp Exige?

They call those 'Marmite vents' - apparently necessary to get the V12 cooled. I actually really like them

Like the G, I was thinking about one day (in the dim and distant future) possibly maybe buying one - they'll be rarer than rocking horse sh*t I'd guess so will probably be a future classic. I still know naff all about one after TG.

So what we're basically saying is .. the pikies enjoyed the light entertainment programme... but the toffs weren't impressed at the lack of product information on their weekly shopping programme!

Wonder if they'll do a homage anytime soon...

Would any of you base your decision to buy an Aston solely on what Clarkson has to say about them?

I think he would surprise a few folk, I think the Britcar laptimes showed he wasn't too far off the pace of the Stig and was faster than Hammond and May.

As for Hammond: he's turned into a one-trick-pony (actually, his hair makes him look a bit My Little Pony these days) and is the weak link IMHO. I just get irritated whenever he's talking. I've become a big fan of May and would like to see him less marginalised in the studio. IMHO Hammond will be long gone from our TV screens while May continues to produce excellent documentaries, etc. Clarkson and May can stay, Hammond should be released so he can give his full attention to Total Wipeout drivel
With you on that one - I still 'like' Clarkson and I watch May's other progs and docs purely because I like his presenting.... Hammond on the other hand is just plainly irritating (but then I can't really see anyone to replace him)

Might base my decision not to buy one on the review.

Surprised no one has made a comment about Richard Hammonds hair ! Whats going on their. A cross between David Hasselhof and Bilbo Baggins  .

I hated this season of Top Gear, I new it was scripted before but they just take the P*ss now. Shame as it was one of T.V highlights.
