Was it a Focus? I thought it was an A3, but admittedly that wasn't my primary concern. His will be a few k to repair, it didn't look too bad, but I learned from a deer strike that the costs add up very quickly.

I would be checking the chassis rail although the hit did look to be above that, certainly needs a good check before use. The only benefit in getting yours fixed yourself would be if they wanted to write it off and you weren't getting much value for the conversion. But Chassis would have to be good first and a relatively cheap fix.

Somebody else said A3 Kerry so it probably was.

A1 called this morning as I had sent a cheque in on Saturday, to check if my details had changed. Told her about Sunday but she did not seem too bothered and said that she would put the cheque through. She said she would call me when she heard from his Insurance Company.

Tut,

I am amazed the insurance and/or police haven't been in touch yet - knowing that you are the jammiest bugger alive ill not be surprised if you never hear anything about this again.

anyway - glad you are OK, maybe its a sign........ for you to start looking where you are going ;-)

My door aint great Tut, the hinge part has burst round the fibreglass so is floating inside the door itself. The skin looks 90% okay but probably not worth the hassle of repair for a short period. TBH I=I doubt its worth sorting period.

Thanks anyway Craig, the door is taped shut so I can still use the car.

What would be useful though would be the glass assuming it is still inside the door, as that would make me waterproof.

Willowbrae had issues sourcing a n/s sill but I contacted 1967pb on eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/1967pb) and he made me one within a week.

Yes picked up the door thanks. Bloody heavy, could only just lift it with Charlene at the other end, but then that is not my forte at the moment. Only needed the glass and that is intact.

Not sure when Mike goes back offshore but he offered to fit the electric garage door opener for me, so he could maybe give me a hand in fitting the glass in.

Just received a form from my Insurance Company today to fill in, so I will definitely go ahead with a claim now and get the car repaired professionally.

I am using the car as is but the glass will make it waterproof as well.
