Wheel damage – repairable?

Post by Tommy Twist » Wed Jun 08, 2011 6:41 am

Hi,

One of my wheels has suffered minor rim damage – I'm wondering if this is something that could be knocked back into place without the wheel having to be fully refurbed...

No idea how this happened, I do my best to avoid the potholes and am not aware of having driven over any object that would be likely to cause a dent like that :(

Cheers :cheers

Have you checked the inside of the rim? This happened to us a while ago, took the wheel off and there was a bigger dent and a small crack on the inside :(

There are so many pot holes that if you do have to hit one or hit one by mistake it's just another part of motoring.

Hi Davie,

I haven't checked the other side of the rim. Actually, you've just reminded me that I need to check whether or not I have a jack that'll fit under the car!

What kind of jack do you use under yours?

Cheers.
