End of an era.

Post by Scotty C » Mon Sep 17, 2012 2:45 pm

End of an Era.

Well after over 4 years of ownership, 31,000 miles, about 50 trackdays, 2 race seasons, 1 engine and about 6 or 7 gearbox rebuilds. It was emotional to see the 2-11 go.

It truly was a life changing car.

Already got the ball rolling on a few items for the new stead, but as its mainly for Lindsay it will have to stay fairly standard for now.

Loved taking it round Knockhill on Saturday (had a couple of scalps) and had a great wee run over the Cairn O mount on the way home. I really have forgotten how good the standard car is on the road.

I know the new owner is going to love driving it as much as I did.

Old and new.

Good to hear the 211 is staying in the SE family. :thumbsup

Scotty without a 211 seems wrong somehow..

It's good to hear you enjoyed the S1, I would have thought that would be a bit of a come down after the 211. :blackeye

It has been an epic car, and still my favourite drive at Spa ever was in that 211.

Probably the best Frolic was Atom vs 211, and it even came to the rescue when i lost my keys.

Doubt there has ever been an SE car that has done more trips, races etc. What an innings! :cheers :beer

Waited for you at the S/S Scotty, but nobody came by.

Went main road until Stracathro but was dozing, so cut off for Edzell and over the Cairn which woke me up, and had a good drive home.

Beginning of a new era... :thumbsup

Driving it on the raod is a new experience , it is just mad, touch the throttle for more 2 seconds and your over the limit!!!!!

Seat moved, so I can now reach the pedals, even with Scottys "booster cushion" I still couldnt see, and turn it in......didnt stop me from doing 40 laps.

Awsome machine, and started our new relationship off well yesterday morning with an engine mount repair

My pax around Knockhill in it was an experience I'll remember for a long time  Glad you haven't deserted the marque and sure you'll enjoy a less extreme example. Sometimes less is more :thumbsup

Can't quite believe it's been 4 years since I talked the factory into uniquely painting it before you would buy it (on the basis you didn't want Spice Girls spec - think it would have suited you)....

But then god knows how many it is since Stu got the green monster, so glad we're all still ere keeping the faith :cheers

Its been 11 years now Graeme , and loved every second of it, a life changing purchase. :thumbsup

Not sure how many owners in S.E. will have had the same car as long, Campbell ,FD, Anyone else??

The 211 gives me that same feeling as the 160 when I first got it, just awsome.
