Sky tvpackage
[waves]. Nothing on the go just now but if you can wait a bit there should be an offer coming. No idea what it will be though.

In short, no. DDtB must have tried every tactic.Doc883 wrote:Do deals come up for hard pressed existing customers paying north of £60 a month

But one of Donkey's favourite things in the world is taking flak about that, so please don't let that stop you asking!

my mother just got a 'renewal' she has been with sky for a while now and was paying circa 58-60 for normal sky with all the packages (no HD)Doc883 wrote:Do deals come up for hard pressed existing customers paying north of £60 a month
she called up to say wanted to leave. and she now has full hd sports , entertainment extra , movies (free install of HD box) for £45. she managed to get 6 months off on one package i think and additional 20% somehow

Cool, whereas I'm sure DDtB threatened to leave and they said "fine".
Might be dependant on how monthy figures are looking, or who you get on the phone, etc... Don't think it's as sure fire as the Mobile Phone operators are (or were, not tried it in a while)

Re: Sky tvpackage
i assume the reason customers pay north of £60 is that they feel it represents good value. Should they feel the value is not there then they are free to downgrade or cancel should they wish. Be aware that if you wish to call someone and say "i'd like to cancel" they may just take you at your word and then cancel your product.Doc883 wrote:Do deals come up for hard pressed existing customers paying north of £60 a month
I have never, and will never, get a deal for existing customers that lowers their monthly bill, i'll only ever get one that lowers the entry point to a package or product they don't have.
Which seems sensible business to me.

Re: Sky tvpackage
It's definitely not good value... But there's bugger all competition...
Sky's attitude to long term customers sucks.
If another competitor came along... I'd be off in a heartbeat and sure I'm not alone. Oh and Virgins tv isn't good enough to be called a competitor imho

Re: Sky tvpackage
And when I threatened to leave btw... They couldn't have cared less. Ended up downgrading my package...
Re: Sky tvpackage
To add fuel to the simmering 'how much' brigade.
Just got an email from Sky informing me that the 'go' package is changing and you will no longer be able to get your sky products on two of your I-thing or laptops etc and download for offline viewing later. Instead they are upgrading it all so the streaming will be easier and you will be abhle to use on up to 4 i-things. laptop etc.......oh yes and that is free, for 3 months....and then a £5 per month thereafter....Great business model.....but as I have now reached north of £70 per month I will not be subscribing...
I did manage to get a discount out of Sky and managed to keep it and work on it for some 3 years but then last year I threatened to leave and they called my bluff so now paying full whack for the lot, movies, sport, HD, multi room boxes etc etc.
If only I could divest myself of the pesky semi adult children. Would save a fortune. nearly managed a short while ago but then the son realised that he was far better off staying put and living with the 'rents', so now speaks to us and suffers the rants re personal hygine, bedroom mess, where have you been, where is the car, who is that sleeping in the living room, exactly what who's been drinking my beer, wnine, JD, Gin, Cider. Hic etc
