Cambelt Service

Post by CallumM » Tue May 16, 2017 8:46 pm

Does anyone have any recommendations of where would be best placed to have a cambelt service carried out on the X-Bow in or around the Dundee area. Ideally would like to have someone that can look after the car ongoing. I've currently removed all the body panels and would be ideal timing to have it done whilst the car is stripped back.

Cheers

I think SimonA used to use Falkland performance for his servicing. Not in Dundee mind you but not too far away! Look forward to seeing it!!

Couldn't go past Craig Moncrieff when I had my Lotus! Great service, keen pricing and always on hand with great advice

I use, and trust Paul Bowers Motors in Dundee. He is just a little independent garage, so no particular specialist knowledge about any variety of cars (but then we are talking about a cam belt on a 2 litre I4 turbo VW right...!) but is always keen to learn, is enthusiastic and has good equipment.

He looks after all of my cars and has done for years, including doing the head gasket on my 944 a couple of years back - which a Porsche specialist did 6 months before and refitted a head with scores and no signs of it having been skimmed, my Elise and my Maserati.

He also has Hunter Hawkeye alignment gear if you're looking for a geo.

He is on holiday until early next week (over in Monza at a Scooter Rally at the moment - he is a Lambretta man) though his colleague Jason will be in.
