Manufacturing Query

Post by 111Robin » Thu May 18, 2017 2:22 pm

Is there anyone in the manufacturing area that could look into costs for making a batch of these aluminium tags. Thickness is arround 0.75mm but i can send the tag if anyone is interested in making them. The stamped number isn't required as each one will be different. Just looking to see how many would need to be made to make it cost effective.

I would get it laser or water cut as it will probably be a couple of pence each.

I have used ESP laser, he have laser and water jet machines and will do small batches.

How many do you want made?

Is accuracy a big concern?

Do they have to be aluminum?
Landrover 90 = Muddy shed spec
Fiat panda = Couldn't care less spec
Landrover ?? = Muddy shrek spec
Unimog 404S = Very slow silly offroader spec
Kubota F1900 = Snowplough spec

Quantity depends on the cost. They need to be 100% accurate as I'm hoping to replicate the original SU tags for use on restorations. Those currently available aren't very accurate and no use if you want everything correct.

Received a quotation, pretty reasonable so will go ahead with it.
Thanks for the pointer.
