I'd be disappointed if there were not already mules kicking around Hethal. Did Lotus help Tesla or were they just donor cars?

You might need to drop to 5th to keep up with them.

All sounds very promising for some interesting machinery in the future.

Me to, hurry up and get it out so it can depreciation a bit then I'll have one, now hoping from something a bit mote radical for the nextgen Elise (and not fully electric)
If they had built a Evora roadster 2-3 years after launch, I'd really think I'd have one of them at moment as my 'use every weekend car'

Geely announced this week (I think) that they were no longer developing diesels and would be focussing on electric...

A lot of the electric stuff is stunning acceleration but it's a different driving style and not one that lends itself to B road excitement. I wonder what that level of electric performance and Lotus levels of chassis knowledge equates to?

I suspect petrol cars will struggle to see which way they went, let alone keep up.

Tesla used the elise chassis as their first model. The roadster.

Can't remember who but someone recently is doing a Elise Tesla equivalent/copy, 5 years+ or whatever later and with worse output and range.
Sounds like a great business case

Lotus built the Tesla roadster for Tesla. I went round the Hethel track in one.

Was it 4 seconds a lap quicker than anything else that had been round there?

I could never understand why Lotus didn't capitalise on their EV knowledge and produce their own electric Elise ( unless the tie in with Tesla had a clause prohibiting it) Maybe now...
