It's ok, the constant drizzle and midgies will soon dampen the spirits of the newbie tourist hordes :D

A work colleague will be up there this weekend. He is from Romania and has friends over for a road trip around Scotland. His original big idea was a link up of Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow. FFS!

Sent him a few links of the usual SE locations so he is now setting off for overnights in Aviemore, Durness, Applecross, and a B&B near Camusdarroch before back to Glasgow. Would have stayed at Achmelvich or Clachtoll but they were looking for a glamping stay rather than tenting if possible.

He was very excited this afternoon about the prospect. The weather forecast is, er, typical June. This could break him.

I still have photos on my phone of the bonfires we have had on the west coast, which I of course let him see. He was utterly bewildered when he asked if it was ok to have campfires on the beach and I said it's fine but you will have to import your own firewood.
