Good thrash to Moffat today actually, down our old pal the 701. The Elise is such a spot-on car.

Important shakedown to ensure all well after major spannering.

Lots of lovely hardware on show at the Moffat Classic Car Rally :-)

18th birthday celebrations

Post by campbell » Mon Jul 03, 2017 10:12 am

So the big day...

...started with the sound of silence. Guess who left the lights on after using them in daylight the day before :-/

And my nifty portable booster pack was, er, back home in the garage, after being cleaned out of the Elise before it went to CMC for 3 weeks!

One AA visit and much chortling later, we headed out to retrace the steps of our first drive 18 years ago - between Tweedsmuir on the A701 and St Marys Loch. Spectacular single track winding up past Talla and Megget reservoirs.

Hard to tell them apart really?!

Thanks for all the memories folks. Here's to the 21st, in 2020 (!)

PS - the ribbon was fitted for Eilidh on Friday, her last day at Primary school and UJI was her limo to the Leavers Party. Seemed fitting to leave it on for the big birthday :-)

Nice one, Campbell, amazing to have had 18 years together and planned as always on the day :thumbsup

Really should have parked in the same spot and allowed us to play 'spot the difference'

I really need to look at the various car events that go on and get to some of them, i was talking to a (cough) 911 owner last week who talked about all the summer shows he visits just to have a wander round.

Remember I had pictures like that Audi Quattro on my wall at home and a few of the mk2 rally Escorts rather than the mk1's, also remember at one point having a X-pack escort and capri leaflet but surely that Capri should have RS alloys on it !!

I would have parked in exactly the same spot, Ian, but the kids were losing their sense of humour with all the faffing around. Plus needed to get going again to stay ahead of some slow-mo's we'd already had to hustle our way past on the single track. I felt like Tut for a while :-)
