New car.

Post by pete » Tue Jul 04, 2017 11:58 pm

"Well at least it's running fine now." After the monumental screw up that had been my experience of MMC the Shed was being collected from what was destined to be it's penultimate visit to Craig's. A new engine had been sourced (even though R's left, the magnanimity lives on)."What are your plans for it?"

"Sell it. I'm done with Lotus. Bloody things. Well I'd like an Evora one day, bit more practical but we really need something more sensible at the moment." I say.
"Like what?" asks Craig.
"Suzy fancies a T5 but I don't really want to drive a van everywhere and have you seen how much they cost! I keep looking at estates but nothing grabs me. Last holiday we had 5 bikes and a canoe with us. For three of us. So I need to take that into account."
"Fair enough," replies Craig, "I haven't got much that fits that bill. I mean I could do you a good price on that," he continues pointing to something slightly dusty and unloved looking, lurking at the back of the workshop.

"Good news dear!" I say to the long patient Mrs Pete. "Not only is the Shed gone" (long story, but ultimately Italy) "but I've bought another car!"
"Woohoo like we talked about? Something spacious with cruise control? Is it a T5?" she asks.
"Errm well I don't really want a T5 and YOU just got a new car!" I object.
"I thought the i3 was your car?"
"Nah I'm bored you have it. And Craig promised me it was a good price."
"What was a good price. And who's Craig? From your work?"
"No! Craig from CMC. Edinburgh Craig. Why would Craig from work sell me a car? He has a Hyundai. Do I look like a Hyundai driver?"
"Well why would Craig sell you a car? He sells Lotuses doesn't he? And We agreed you weren't buying any more Elises." she says. Emphatically.
"He doesn't just sell Elises. He's sells loads of stuff for clients. He's sold more Volvos than Elises. Probably."
"I don't like Volvoes," She sighs. "but at least we'll get the bikes in. Does this mean we are selling the Golf?"
"Hmm not really. I love the Golf. And we'll need something with a boot."
"Oh FFS. You bought another Elise didn't you"

It's not an Elise. It's an EXIGE!!!!!! And it's the only one in that colour...

Even though that is possible the worst photo of a car I've ever seen, it's still exciting.

Congrats!

Jesus Pete, I hope you are more capable with your ATC electronics than you are with a camera. 8)

Cool, 2/3rds of a white Exige. I like your thinking :blackeye

Great post btw. My wife (and family) like to pretend that this is how I do things, but the reality is that I discuss everything and seek approval. Perhaps one day I'll just go buy a car and see what happens ;)
