Nice road

Post by tonyg » Tue Oct 17, 2017 12:02 am

Took the car for a drive on Sunday (going nowhere in particular).
Chanced upon a road i really enjoyed.
It's unclassified and goes between Strachan and the Slug Road - lovely flowing road, little more than a single track so no real high speeds, but had fun.
Easiest way to find it on a map would be to Google Knockburn Loch and zoom out so you can see both ends.
Now with half an engine

Agree Tony, been along there a few times. Followed Scotty the first time I think. Heading south on the slug road it's a right turn just before the bridge over Burn of Sheeoch. It can be liable to flooding at the Strachan end.

Another potentially missed gem I rediscovered the other Sunday morning is the road from Tillyfourie to Glenkindie via Muir of Fowlis.

Take care on the Knockburn road please, as it’s usually busy with cyclists. Me especially

Muir of Fowlis Road is great when quiet, but it can be a slog if farm traffic is present. I had a good run with Kinger one night a few years ago.

And of course you will be riding considerately and providing room and clear signals when riding in a group!
