Newbie Female from Dundee
Hi,
I'm Karen from Dundee. Looking to get an Elise in the near future. Your site was recommended by a friend. Hope you can all give me some much needed advice. Being female I don't want to get ripped off.
Thanks

What year of elise do you have in mind/ what budget? Do you have any specific cars in mind that you have links for we can comment on?
Chances are, someone on here will know the car if it is for sale in Scotland... assuming you are buying used.

As far as I'm aware she's not spotted a particular car. Having had a brief chat, an Elise S with Toyota 134bhp mill would be best from a price and reliability point of view, as it'll be her only car. I suggested she spoke to Brandon about the starlight black one in Murrays but I reckon black isn't her 1st choice. I think yellow is the preference
Another option would be the possibility of a good finance deal on a new 1.6, as I saw the £299/mth deal online...

Karen,
The folks on here will be able to give you some excellent advice on a variants of Elise's.
Don't be concerned about having the Elise as a daily driver as when we first got our S1 in 2002 it was our only vehicle. Elise's have come on leaps and bounds since then and are much more usable now. Couple of compromises with trips to the supermarket but its all part of the fun.
However I would probably advise looking for a cheap, cheap winter run around if you have to rely on your Elise to get to work. Last thing you want is to have your pride and joy ruined if the worst happens (especially if snow hits Dundee).
Also - yellow rocks. Yellow (Norfolk Mustard) was the colour of my 1st Elise.

Great lot on here who will help you along the way with purchase and everything after, fantastic community with lots of events too, you'll enjoy it I'm sure!
Murray Motor Company (Lotus dealer) in Edinburgh is the choice for servicing (Craig is the Man in there) and Brandon is in sales, if you're looking for a choice car.
Beware of the Tut....
Cheers

Sounds like a smart spec for a fist elise (apart from yellow, but each to their own ). The elise s (134 bhp variant) is nicely torquey and make sfor a good daily IMHOrossybee wrote:Cheers DomDominic wrote:

Yellow is a great colour, Azure Blue is even better, take no notice of these Philistines Karen.
Silver is not really a colour anyway.
