Front coolant bleed point

Post by Ferg » Sat Oct 22, 2016 5:19 pm

Replaced both the temp sensors today and bled the coolant at the front bleed point. The bleed point wasn't overly clever at resealing. :( If I push the hose it sprays a little but is ok when left alone. Is this likely to fail imminently? Can a new hose be done with the clam on?

Don't think I would want to chance it. I think there would be sufficient access to change the hose with the wheel arch liner out but the clam on. Might be a bit footery though. I would await the experts though.

Is the insert into the hose turning Ferg? In the past I have put a Jubilee Clip around it but not ideal due the heat/pressures on track!

If its not the insert, is the rubber O' ring still there....

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

I'm worried it's the insert hence why I'm wondering if I can do hose without clam off. I didn't know there was a rubber o-ring ring in there too. Will have a look but my money is on the insert.

I did our vx220 front rad hose (same part) with the clam on.

Arch liner out, front under tray off and headlight out.
Having done the S1 with the clam off, I think it would be possible I a similar way..

Had a look today. Fitted a precautionary jubilee clip but it looks like it should be doable with the arch liner out. :thumbsup
