Bubbles in paint work

Post by Titanium S1 111S (gla) » Fri Jan 27, 2006 3:11 pm

I have noticed a bit of bubbling in the paintwork on the boot / engine cover.

I thought it might be a symptom of damp boot syndrome but surly the bodywork would be up to that.

Any thoughts?

PM Pauline about it, could well be a warranty job as bubbling paint is very common. Uldis is having his roof resprayed under warranty I believe and he's had his Exige a while.

Cheers

I have this prob on my pax door - pinprick sized bubbles that ppl on Sel*ck called 'mocrobubbles'. Apparently there's a limited warranty on paintwork which, as owner of a 99 car, I anticipate will have expired for me.

Let me know how you get on though,

Cheers.

I'm late 99 as well so we will see what they say. I'm not overly optimistic.

I think mine have only come up in the last few months which seems strange.

I'll let you know

Uldis's Exige must be about that age and his is being done under warranty so finger's crossed.

mine is starting to bubble above the exhaust . There are elongated very narrow bubbles going horizontally. Must be the heat...lotus should have anticioated this, you think guys?

I've had some fixed under warranty before but it was caused by the drainage cup at the rear not draining properly. The evaporating water was apparently the cause of mine. Never heard of an exhaust causing bubbling and if you've got a non-standard one then you probably won't get anywhere with Lotus.
