2bular 7" or 8"?

Post by Peter76 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 4:52 pm

Spoke to Jim @ 2bular today about an exhaust for my Exige. He says the 7" is a fair bit louder than the 8" so i'm swaying towards the 8" at the mo as i don't want it to be overly loud. He says that if i had any doubts to go for the 8", but would like to hear from the peeps who have these already, as to which one i should go for?

Help......

Woofter!

4inch like mine (exhaust! ) is what you want 8)

Not sure what the noise levels are like on the S but the NA 7 inch is pretty quiet I thought, 8 would barely be louder than standard unless the S is somehow noisier.

Ive got the 7 on my Elise SC and I love it - I dont think it is as lound as a stage 2 on my old 111r but a good boom when you give it a bit of stick and not too loud on the motorways

I would deffo go for the 7" the 8 might bejust a bit too quiet

I have a 7 x 18 (there is different lenghts too I believe) on my Elise R. I'm down in Stonehaven, you are welcome to come have a run in mine to hear it.

I really like the sound of mine, nice and meaty without being offensive and no drone. Some nice popping when off the throttle too. Not too sure how different it would be on your Supercharged car.

I'd love a passenger run in your Exige S too!

8 inch 2bular GT3 on mine. Kenny said it was sounding good last weekend at KH :thumbsup

Only thing about the 7'' is if you track the car at the bigger circuits down south having to change back to std.

Was hoping to get out for a run today but sadly it's a bit wet! :( (I guess Kenny's comment of "woofter" applies, again!) Would have come down by Stonie if you were about. Some other time i guess. You can easy have a run in the car.

I take it that the 7" is alright for Knockhill then? I intend getting the car down there soon.

It's now looking more like 7".....

Hmm.... I don't think I can describe it tbh.

The other day my dad was sitting in mcd's in Corstorphine and he heard me start it up and drive out of Tesco car park...

Need to get a db rating to find out.

When in second gear and got the foot full on the floor - I honestly don't believe I've heard anything better!! Love it!

My vote goes for the 8".. keep a low profile when your out and about daily driving.. too many curtain twitcher and finger wagglers about these days.. the track performance wont be much different if any with either zost..
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

As Clarckie said the fun police down south will black flag you.

I am about to fit a 8" x 24" into the 2-11tonight, If you want to hear it, drop me a pm.

Ok, after thinking for too long about it, decided to go with the 8"er! If i made a mistake, i'll be sure not to let you all know! In all seriousness, i generally prefer things to be a little more subtle and from what Jim said, and the feedback i've had here, think that the 8" will be the best option for me.

No 'woofter' comments or such like from the 7" supporters please!!!! :thumbsup
