Shame Robin left.

This was his dept.

Good luck with it Mark. Has potential but with your recent run of luck...?!

Na, it's a piece of pish. took me, barefoot, and shug about 2 hours with an angle grinder. It's on a sub frame, so just disconnect everything and jack the body over it. Didn't use a crane at all.

I was thinking the same. His technical knowledge was second to none and maybe we should start a 'Come back Robin' thread.

He left a few months ago, got fed up with the snideyness that was being posted and decided that he had had enough.
You know Robin, different mindset to the rest of us, a big loss and a hell of a waste. He was a one off.

Still in contact with him of course, he was here with Katie a couple of weekends ago to stay and we are also on WhatsApp and e-mail.

Sadly a Come Back thread will have no impact as he wont be reading.

Anyway...

Well that's a bit of a loss. Can't be a good thing that results in people like Robin being driven away.

Anyways, Mark, sounds like you should start preparing yourself for for a run of good luck as surely the smashed clam, exploded engine, burst bimmer and the MG is enough to see you into 2065 without so much as a stubbed toe.

Accruing parts at the mo.. I have an MG ZR 160+ at the house with 50K miles and full history so engine is sorted. Just bought a Piper 270 VVC exhaust cam. I don't want to just shove it in and get it going I want it the way I want it, that may mean its not on the road this year eeeks....

Things I want and need to source still

4-2-1
Larini
CR box
Lightweight flywheel
decent clutch one on it bites at the top of travel despite being new, I hate it
I need an s2 111s ECU and loom
I'll get the ECU remapped to get the best from the cam and exhaust.

So I have a fair bit of spending to do before getting it all ripped apart and put back together....

Be nice to see it on the road come summer but I'd rather have her the way I want her than live with, what ifs....

Hope all is well with you mate and family life is treating you well ;)

Yah! Buuuut, my box broke last year right before going to the ring so now has a standard S1 PG1 courtesy of the very kind Simon Ironside, fitted by Craig in a hurry lol so I do have a CR box at home that needs a rebuild, rebuild cost seem more than the cost of a used box unless anyone on here fancies a project hahahaha

Broke how?

Rebuild isn't that tough if you can get the bits. I combined the bits of three boxes on a (cleaned) potting bench in a greenhouse, back in the day when they were all over eBay for £50
