Exhust replacement.

Post by Callummarshall » Fri Feb 10, 2017 9:11 pm

Hi all,

The larini on my s2 n/a exige has developed a rattle on idle indicating that there is a baffle(s) loose. I was looking at replacing it with a 6" 2bular or maybe a 7" with a decat? Has anyone got any experience of doing similar or have one in the north east I could hear?

Alternatively is there anywhere that would weld (or is it worth) having the larini welded?

Thanks

me... but im in Edinburgh

Ive got a larger bore racing manifold, which came with a de cat pipe, but I dont use it.
Ive got a larini sports cat thats been modified to the manifold & takes a standard shaped back box.
I had a 2bular back box, but packers went, so i changed it to a Janspeed.
I had to get the exit pipe altered, as it hit the downpipes as they bend round
sounds good - but too loud for Donnington on full chat.

Callum, is the S2 Exige larini exhaust the same as the Elise one? If so, I have a decat pipe if you're interested. I tried fitting it to mine, but with the drop in back pressure it made my already erratic idle (Piper cams) worse to the point of being a pain in the arse.

If you fancy trying it let me know. Can be yours for beers;)

With the decat on it struggled to hold an idle and when slow speed manoeuvring it would stall frequently when you lifted off. Fine with the cat back on.

It was dyno'd by previous owner at 160, so 25 up on standard.

Cheers for the offer Paul, but I've got just got a decat off eBay. I don't think yours would fit being a rover too?

David, Does the decat make much of a difference to the noise level?
