Yeah, I'd have liked to take the V6 as it's becoming a bit of a driveway ornament. Especially since there now seems to be a decent number of them going. Maybe if I can get my hands on a two car trailer (and some form of silencing for the tubular)...

Aw, was hoping Doug was taking the v6 as it'd be awesome round spa. Still at least I'll have yours Stu and Graham's to watch. :)

That's me now booked. I see P&O are offering priority boarding for £12 which says you'll get on and off first. Last time we took that ferry it took hours to get off and through passport control at Hull so I've paid the extra. I'll probably still be last off

Any details on the Sunday track day? Should we be booking this / paying a deposit just now?

I've booked source for Friday a couple of days ago - it said only one room left on booking.com but then again it probably says that about every hotel...!

You're better booking direct with the hotel - http://www.hotel-de-la-source.com/en/ Plenty of availability showing plus you don't have to pay in advance.

Thanks - I will have a look at booking directly, might be more competitive, on booking.com its 129quid for a twin room. On my booking page it says there is no pre-payment required.

Edit: Ferry return + Cadwell booked now. I want to book a taxi around the ring for the Sunday - anyone had any success doing this online before?

Thanks,
Stewart

So dug the Elise out the garage a couple of weeks ago after it being parked up for four months over winter to give it a little service before this years track season begins....

Oil and filter change,
New air filter,
Plugs,
Coolant change,
Gearbox oil,
Brake fluid change,
Brakes stripped and cleaned,
Headlights adjusted,
MIL light delete cause of the sports cat,
Harness bar fitted,
Spot lights removed and number plate lowered,
Rear number plate light fixed,
New alloy centre caps,
New black aero catch (at least 3bhp)

Just need to order tyres and harness, oh and probably wash it.

Can we go yet!!

I started on the V6 tonight....guess what.....brakes !!!!!.
I was planning on AP rotors, but have ran out of time, so just cleaning up what I have, an going with that, for now. I am sure I will have issues, but don't have a choice.,

Other than that, it's clean enough, so will be ready to go by the end of the week.

Saw a quote that focuses the mind for spa. (For those that haven't been)

"describing the 4.3-mile track's ferociously high-speed layout as too dangerous for grand prix racing motorcycles."

"Spa was struck off the grand prix calendar ahead of the 1991 season after the circuit's final section – the infamous ribbon of tarmac that features the hair-raising Blanchemont left, taken in sixth-gear, with limited run off – was one of stretches deemed too dangerous for grand prix-spec motorcycles."

Gave the 2-11 a bit of TLC in preparation for this year. Handling didn't feel quite right and upon inspection found that the dampers were past their best and so fitted new set of ohlins(well 3/4 of a new set for now  ) which shall hopefully sort the handling issue.
Also fitted new set of braided brake lines and full fluid flush as well as some new pagid RS14's to help stop.
Wobbling rear view mirrors binned as well and new ones strengthened and modified so I don't have to remove the clams to change them in future if I have to...

Rear diffuser given a quick freshen up as well but made a sh*t job of it so it will be getting done again.

Weakest point of the car now is me  really looking forward to Spa! Bucket list track for me.

Who do people use for Euro breakdown/recovery cover? AA?

I'd be interested too - breakdown recovery is on my list of things to do and I am running out of time as I am taking the boat this Sunday.

Booked a sh*t box to drive around the Nurburgring on the Sunday morning. If anyone wants some cheap laps, I am sure you could rent it after us, let me know and I will tell the organizers. (think its an old BMW)

I've always had an annual AA policy for euro breakdowns. That reminds me, I need to update the details for the new car.
