Feck has it really been a mont hsince my car has turned a wheel ? Well the flat battery seems to agree it has been.
Got it down to my mate Edgars to have a swatch. Easy diagnosis of a fecked brake piston seal. Amazingly Geary added this to his product lineup in March and is now sold out.

Anyone able to help out with parts ?

Think this comes under wear and tear for AA ?

Well finally got round to it. Would not have been any use without me ol mucker Edgar to show me the ropes.

Wheel off then caliper off clamping the brake line as I forgot the replacement brake fluid.
Decided not to split the caliper so removed pads, pistons and rings and set about cleaning up the caliper with the wire brush attachment on the bench drill thingy. Came up a treat. Bit of hot soapy water and some alu cleaner and it was perfect.
Edgar noticed that there were the small corrsion lumps of salt you see on the outside of the caliper in the outermost seal seat and this was probaby causing the leak.

Dried it all off and the seals (after bathign in brake fluid for 30 mins) went in no problem. All back together and brakes bled and jobs a good un. ~2 hours including lectures on what was what and Sanjyo being too gentle with the wire brush thingy.

Very tempted to refurb the other caliper now.

Did the wire brush not eat the ali of the caliper? I was thinking of doing the same as mine are pretty manky but was worried about wrecking them.

Would a wee coat of silver caliper paint not keep them looking good? Did mine (when I had it), and they looked great!
