Got the new issue of evo through the door this morning, there's a nice article on the Weltmeister Trophy conversion for the Exige S2. 280bhp and 220lbft sounds like fun

I'm still not sure how much I'd miss the torque of my VXT if I do switch, so something like this as an option for the future would be good...
Their test car is bright yellow with chequered flag graphics, looks familiar

Yeah, mine was first though.....
Only problem is, every EVO reader in scotland is now going to think I have 280bhp......
Seems like a lot of power for £7k, but £7k is still a lot of money.

Not sure if a turbo and an exige work for me......
Had the same thought when i saw the graphics tho

Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Been a pax in an exige, driven a VX... trust me, you wouldnt miss it. After a few corners the grip and turn in would have you hooked, never mind the power.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

I've driven an Exige (on road only) and paxed round Knockhill and East Fortune in one, so I know how much quicker they are on track, but on the road it didn't feel especially quick. I'd just be concerned about how tricky it would be to overtake on the road, the VX makes it very easy (and safe), whereas in the Exige you could be waiting for it to come on to the second cam to take full advantage.
That said, I fully expect my next car to be an S2 Exige

Ed brought me back from Newcastle to Edinburgh..... there is no problem with overtaking other than back pain when your thrown into your seat on second cam.

The Weltmeister conversion does look very interesting. I believe it is basically the Forcedfed kit which has a very good reputation in the States. Apparently the wick has been turned up on the demo car, and customer cars will have around 260 bhp, but that will still make it supercar quick. 7k is a lot through, and for track use they strongly recommend an Accusump which I would guess is going to be another grand fitted, and the brakes are likely to need upgrading to cope, then the clutch.....A slippery slope to spending stacks of money, little of which you will get back at resale time. Then there is the question of Weltmeister being a hell of a long way from Scotland if there are any problems with the conversion. Still, if I unexpectedly find a large wodge of cash lying around I would be very tempted...
