Re: 2012 SMRC MX5 Series?

I'd be pretty tempted with this, certainly a more appealing proposition then a fwd xr2. Just got to finally book my ards and do some saving.

Re: Forrestburn this weekend

Congrats on the class win Clarkyboy, looked like you got the beemer running well on the Sunday. Really glad it dried out in the afternoon, it was very slippy in the morning. Looking forward to having another go there, I never really got the hang of the last hairpin and I'm sure the corner before the...

Re: Help! Anyone got a rear toe link near Doune?

A wonderful member on here came to my resuce, Kevin came out to Doune with a replacement toe link and I'm really really grateful. Even managed to make it out for the last practice run and drive it all the way back home. Just got to get the poles and string out tonight to get a vaguely reasonable ali...

Re: Ingliston Sprint 30th Apr

Thanks Kev, really appreciated all the tips you gave me, especially about tyre pressures and getting a banker time in on the first run. I really enjoyed the weekend, must say I felt very welcome in the paddock, the road going guys are a really great bunch of lads and Dave in the MR2 went out of his ...

Re: Ingliston Sprint 30th Apr

Just got the regs for this and the only mention of spectators is "In the interests of safety the riding of scooters, bicycles or motorcycles within the paddock, spectator or assembly areas is strictly prohibited." which to me implies there is a spectator area, unless of course this is copied from a ...

Re: Helmet mounted cam - a bad idea?

I remember watching "Race to Dakar" with Charley Boorman and they certainly had issues getting through scrutineering with helmet mounted cameras. I think they got round it by velcro'ing them on but it was a long time since I watched it and that was obviously on a bike instead of in a car.

Re: Kames TD on 24/04/2011

Cheers for organising this Mass, enjoyable track and it was great to get passenger laps in a few different cars. Was particularly impressed with the 7's, never been in one before and thought it was great. Off to Stoneleigh kit car show on Monday with my Dad as he fancies building a car and I've now ...

Re: AA P&L

Your other option is the guy I got to fix my wonky mileage after a jump start. He's mobile in Edinburgh so you'd probably have to bring your car down but he asked me what number I wanted and said he usually sorts the Stack units... Robin's option looks cheaper though as he charged around 100 notes....

Re: Dreadnought TD on 14/04/11

They were great, loads better then the stock pads I had, much better bite and don't squeal at all. Even seem to work nicely from cold. Did generate a lot of dust though, which doesn't bother me but can other people. Toyo R888's were also great, very progressive and a big increase in grip over the an...

Re: Dreadnought TD on 14/04/11

Was out in the VX220, really nice group of cars, loads of space out on track and great track etiquette from everyone Sorry if I wasn't more chatty to people was getting in a bit of a flap, turned up late, was having a lot of issues with my brakes and desperately trying to get the car plus myself rea...

Re: Building A Garage Without Planning Permission

Another avenue to look down is a pre fab concrete garage. I had one and I couldn't give it away, might be worth checking gumtree and putting a wanted ad up. I believe as long as the garage is lower then 2.5m high and smaller then 30m2 floor area you don't need planning permission. There are a few o...
