Stop Gap Lotus

Hi George I've been mulling over selling my 59 plate SC, so you're post was a bit of a prompt. Since the other half had a baby in April, the car has barely moved - which is more painful than selling it for something a bit more useable until such time that the wee fella can go in an Elise! I was goin...

Newbie with a VX220 NA in Glasgow

Hi Iain, that was me in the silver S2 - off to do an Ayrshire loop. The Stewarton road is a particular favourite and great for these cars!

Well done on the roof off, I was feeling a touch soft this morning, otherwise I'd have joined you.

Cheers

Yes, spoken to Craig...he's the one leading me into temptation!

Thanks again

Re: new exhaust from generous donor

Thanks Peter. The only one I've heard/been in was an Exige S with the Stage 3 at MMC and it did sound great, particularly the pops on the over-run....how addictive is that?! My only concern is that it's just a little too loud, as it's more than just a weekend car and does need to do the odd motorway...

Re: new exhaust from generous donor

Peter

If you don't mind me asking, what exhaust do you have instead and how does it compare?

Thanks

Re: AD07 tyre wear

Thanks to everyone for the comments. (Campbell - didn't take it any way other than as good advice) My last Elise had the Bridgestones on it and I got well over 10k out of the rears on that, so was really just querying whether the tread markers were the limit on the Yokos. I'd actually already booked...

Re: AD07 tyre wear

Thanks for the replies. The tyres have done 7k miles, although I've only done 2.5k of those so difficult to tell how heavy I am on them. The trip is with the other half, so I can't imagine there will be much opportunity for enthusiastic driving. My question was probably more along the lines of wheth...

AD07 tyre wear

Apologies if this is a common question, but I couldn't find the answer after a trawl through the archives. I've got a 2,000 mile trip to France next month, and my rear AD07's are about a 1-2 mm above the wear markers. What's the general consensus on how much tyre wear I've got left before they're il...

Re: Silver S2 - Shawlands

Thanks Scott, I think I'd like to get used to the car a bit more before I venture up to Knockhill. I'm considering a Carlimits day, as they seem to come highly recommended but that'll have to be later in the year. Your street usually has some interesting metal on it - Tuscan, M6...it's always worth ...

Re: Silver S2 - Shawlands

Not far away at all. I used to see a nice S1 on Grantley Gardens, but don't recall seeing it for a while. Yours before the S2? In terms of how the SC compares, it's quite different. I've only done a couple of thousand miles so still getting used to it, but the immediate impression is that it's a lot...

Re: Silver S2 - Shawlands

I think that'll be me - I got the car in March. There's another S2 round the corner from me, but I think that's another SE'er. Where are you in Shawlands?

Re: Blue S2 - Duke's Pass Friday night

Nice idea.

I was making the most of the wife being away for the weekend so did a loop up to Crianlarich, across to Callendar for a chippy then home over the Duke's Pass. Wasn't held up much at all, which was brilliant.

Blue S2 - Duke's Pass Friday night

Hi

Lovely night for it and looked like you'd found a nice spot to stop.

Cheers

Re: Newbie to SE

After what seemed like an eternity, I finally picked up my new car last Thursday. (Apologies for the lack of photos...I didn't get a chance at the weekend and the weather hasn't really been favourable this week! I'll hopefully remedy this at the weekend) I drove a few cars both up here and also down...
