Re: S1 CAT - can anyone lend me one?
There is a split new one in a box under my desk. Been there for a couple of years. Could get it to my Edinburgh office by tomorrow morning. Edinburgh office is at Toll Cross.

Re: Dangerous Cycling
Couple of points, first is that the fact that he does not have insurance does not mean that you do not have a claim. It just means that there is no insurance to pay the claim. You can still make a claim against him and in the event of your claim being successful he will have to pay it from his own p...

Re: Double glazing.
I looked at this recently for our Victorian sandstone house. G I had a look at their stuff - neat - they have youtube videos and everything :-) Unfortunately cannot contemplate changing from sash and case, and we have shutters through most of the house, so that's our "double glazing" ;-) I'll leave...

Re: Double glazing.
I looked at this recently for our Victorian sandstone house. I was not prepared to get plastic, in my opinion it looks rubbish. It also became clear to me that people were quoting for different things. The cheaper end of the quotes were to pull out the original sashes, mess about a bit with the fram...

Re: Independence SE Poll
Some reporting amongst the press this morning that we'll have financial melt down within six weeks with the Bank of England having to step in as lender of last resort to replace the cash that is exiting Scotland. The ironic thing there is that the balance of power then shifts as B of E will essenti...

Re: Independence SE Poll
I think that those who don't pay tax, I.e benefit dodgers etc. (Not including the disabled or elderly) shouldn't be allowed an opinion, I wonder how that would change the opinion on yes or no! Would probably reduce the yes vote by quite a margin separating the chat from the wheat! The real issue is...

Re: Cellars and things (FALC)
Somebody more knowledgeable will probably turn up shortly to say I’m way out. You are way out  Thanks Dom! I can think of at least two friendly SE'rs who could do the drawings at mates rates / homer. I'm sure a few of us could help out with some cheap labour. :thumbsup I'm with the Donkey ...

Re: Cellars and things (FALC)
No expert at this but you will need a building warrant and maybe planning permission and you will need a structural engineer's drawings to get that. Say £1500 in fees. Difficult to say work wise but £4k in labour if there is some structural work and a couple in materials depending on what you end up...

Re: SE Baby thread NLC
So, next question. Sun protection in the car... solar reflective window tints Vs Window blinds - which to go for? I am erring towards the blinds, but vehicle specific ones seem quite pricey, (£150 for rear side windows and boot window for the focus - although around £70 gets rear side window blinds...

Re: Only in America
Girl sues parents first. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, subject to the limited information available, that if the same case had been brought here she would have won. Scots’ law is clear that a parent has an absolute duty to aliment to the age of 25. I am in no way qualified to make anythi...

Always good to comment on one of these threads. The headline to this is “Not only in the USA” Girl sues parents first. Re: Outlander custom vehicles NLC
Agree absolutely Thinfourth. I can’t for the life of me understand why people pay the sums they do for these cars. I have owned most defender variants. 200TDI, 300TDI, TD5, TDCI. What I can say is that LR didn’t ever make them worse. The newer ones are better than the old ones. I think you should de...
