Dakers update

Just picked this thread up, browsing for something else. I am fine now, but suffered quite a bit of bruising and a painful sternum for a few weeks. The near side tyre blew out and on a narrow unclassified road the car only had to move six inches before being hooked into a ditch. Alasdair McNellan wh...

Yep, SAGA. Unfortunately I think that I am about the only one in the Group that qualifies<BG> tut Tut, You are not the only one. I have just renewed with Saga for £386 with protected NCB. They also did the BoxsterS for £486 with protected introductory NCB of 60%. Service and paperwork excellent. Dak...

 I meant to type Exige where I typed Elise. :o I still have my wonderful Elise, but I also have this pretty impressive Boxster. The only "drawback" is that you cannot see the engine. It is a bit like the Arc of the Covenant. You can hear the sound; experience the force, but there is nothing to...

Porsche spots sad sick silver elise S1 in St Andrews

A funny thing happened to me this week. I had gone into MMC to discuss part exchanging my S1 for a new Exige. I did have reservations about the Barbie Doll interior and the cliff like profile of the Toyota power delivery. Anyway, Grahame has this Porsche Boxster S in stock. One 40 mile drive later, ...

[I think it was more the fact that they thought that big red shiny calipers were something that remotely interested the average Elise owner. ]

Now if they had suggested painting them green with yellow lettering! :D

Great food though!

Yes, I can understand that. The painting really was not at all good. I would certainly not have liked my calipers to be touched up.

Cheers,

Split-ring Bridgestones

I replaced the front Bridgestone SO3s a couple of weeks ago through Blackcircles.com. who are based in Pebbles but fit anywhere. Great Service. Great price. The rears were fine. Examined them again last week and found that they had developed splits along the innermost and outermost grooves on both. ...

V8 Sports and Classics

Has anyone had their Elise worked on by V8 Sports and Classics at Drem? If so, how was the service? I went along to their recent open day, and apart from a few remarks about the agricultural engineering quality of 20 year old TVRs I have seen nothing else. Is this silence ominous or does it point to...

Not at SIDC, but at the last one (Hot Marques?) Ti S1 - SHUG plate, scruffy as fcuk! Cheers Shug Shug, I am fairly certain we met at an MMC Knockhill event. I remember your grass encrusted number plate and the fact that your Elise was behooded. I won the quad bikes and came second on these four whe...

Shug,

I would agree 100%. I have found the bulletins very useful although the amount of repetition does tend to wear out the mouse wheel.

Hi Shug, Yes, I have been a member of the yahoo group since Digest 948 and have even replied a couple of times. I have been to a couple of Murray Motors Lotus days at Knockhill and a few motor club events before then. My Elise is my road car and my business car and is in use every day, apart from sn...

Hi Cal, This forum works really well. Joining was really easy. Thanks and Congratulations. I have had a 1999 Elise S1 from new with a few mods made as parts wear out. The car has done 62,000 miles, sits out in all weathers and still brings a smile to my face whenever I see it. Could be the colour. N...
