Re: Alloy refurb ?

I've used a place at Broxburn a couple of times this year - once to powdercoat a full set of 18"s and another time to redo a diamond cut on a single 19". Both times they did a good job and at a reasonable price. Ecosse Powdercoating. Be aware that their comms are woeful - and the place is a dump! -...

Re: Italian Frolic 2024

Looking forward to the full report! Have you got YT videos too? Myself and AliC stayed at Le Ferme on Frolic'22, I also had the Tartiflette! I've skied in La Clusaz many times but that was my first summer visit. I hope you tried the luge? 8) https://1drv.ms/i/s!Ai1ysE6vEczVg-BopwFTP3pabaVlAw?embed=1...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

Hi all Not been on here for a few years but after selling my Cayman R, I logged on here to find an SE'ers details to ask a few questions about my next potential purchase, and have now bought an Alpine A110. I had to travel down south to buy it and drove the 460 miles home at the weekend. Went for a...

Re: S1 Driveshaft CV boot

What Kinger didn't mention is that they replaced the CV boot on Ferg's Sport 160 in the pitlane at Dijon last Monday! Superb team effort to get it running again. I'll let Kinger share the stories about his car..... :thumbsup

Re: SIDC at Knockhill, - Saturday 8th June, 9am to 1pm

I’ve just spoke to Footman James today they do a classic car policy with track or sport car with track. Sports car policy was £300 cheaper than classic one. Footman James are quite selective about what organisers & tracks they will cover. For example they recognise Knockhill but wouldn't accept SID...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

Reading the forums the Ami doesn't qualify for a 16-year old UK moped license since it's too heavy.... but you can drive at 14 in France!

Keeping an eye out for a Citroen Ami as youngest Padawan will be able to drive it when 16.
Would be fine in town but in the wilds of rural Perthshire???

Re: Anyone got experience of lengthy car repairs?

Is the other insurer paying for a hire car through all of this?

Usually that's enough in itself for then to write the car off and avoid the hire fees.

I agree you definitely want the car inspected by AA/RAC/etc before collecting and handing back any hire car.

Re: Frolic 24 - who's coming? Aug 11-18

I have a slightly different plan..... Friday morning ferry from Portsmouth to Caen, 2 hour drive to Le Mans, arrive ~6pm. Le Man & Dijon trackdays and then head east into the Alps via Annecy or Grenoble. Thinking to drive the Petit Grand Bernard into Italy and then the Grand Bernard into Switzerland...
