Re: S2 Electric and Starter Motor Problems
Robin and Dan, Thanks heaps for your diagnoses as it was spot on. It took a bit of locating but removed the MFRU and even before I took it apart I knew it was gone as I tipped it up and green, corroded water poured out of it. Bought a new one for £50 and fitted it and its working perfectly. Have put...

Re: S2 Electric and Starter Motor Problems
Cheers for that Robin.
I'll check it over the weekend but whats the best course of action? Can drying it out fix the problems and if so is it easy to remove or is it a case of getting a replacement?

S2 Electric and Starter Motor Problems
Well my Elise problems continue! No one said Lotus ownership would be easy! I went away for a week with work (during the time when it was pretty torrential rain) and when I returned the battery on my Elise was dead which I found strange as its never happened before. I charged the battery and am now ...

S2 K Series Head Gasket Has Gone
Was driving home yesterday from work and my 2002 S2 Elise started overheating (110 C) and the rev's were all over the place. Pulled over and checked and it was out of coolant. Walked to a nearby farm and filled up some bottles, topped it back up and started driving again. The temperature kept climbi...

Re: New Brakes For a S2 Elise
I notice Elise Parts don't do the exact discs that I mentioned in my previous post.
Are these discs generally accepted as being ok for pure road use when combined with the Mintex pads?

New Brakes For a S2 Elise
Hey, Basically it appears as though I need to buy 4 new discs and pads as my brakes are pretty much gone. Its a 02 S2 Elise. Where is the best/cheapest place to buy them from and is there any makes of pads or discs I should avoid? I have seen this deal (http://www.kelsport.net/parts/product_details....

Cheers for all the advice guys, will probably give it a shot this weekend and see how I get on and what happens and then take it from there As mentioned before I have a spare throttle body / tps that you are welcome to borrow. Re: MIL Light On and Rev Problems
Sorry, was away on holiday so it's now back to reality and trying to get the car up and running again. Anyone able to respond to the above post at all? Will try cleaning the sensor and doing a reset (if anyone could tell me how then that would be great). Can you buy a new TPS or do you have to buy a...

Re: MIL Light On and Rev Problems
Cheers for the feedback guys.
So basically it seems like I should just replace the TPS and this should fix the problem? How much is a new TPS and are they difficult to fit?
How do you do a TPS reset?
EDIT:- Just checked and a 52mm throttle body is about £120. This seem about right?

Re: MIL Light On and Rev Problems
Ok, to progress this problem a bit I bought a fault code reader and when connected to the car it comes back with :-
P0121 - Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem
Anyone any idea what this could be when combined with the symptoms mentioned above?
Thanks

Re: MIL Light On and Rev Problems
Yeah , I'm not sure as after looking at it at the weekend it's possible that it could jut be left over from last time. here's hoping anyway.
Hopefully I can get the code red and then take it from there.

Re: MIL Light On and Rev Problems
I'll be honest, its starting to look like it is gonna be the head gasket. Checked under the oil cap and there wasn't any of this famous mayo like substance. Decided to check the dipstick and there was a bit of mayo like residue at the top. Top off the coolant cap and there was some on the bottom of...
