Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Also a bit of a let-off for the original dealer. I doubt it, Finance company will likely seek to reclaim its losses. Dealer probably THINKs its off the hook, but I doubt they are. Quite rightly so. Would be good if they ultimately have to pay for someone else to fix it (at full rates) when it would...

Re: New car with a Honda engine... err, it's a Honda

I have zero taste like some of the others, so couldn't deal with this particular Honda, although where as before I would typically have written off most 'FWD hot hatches' as inferior to most 'sports cars' in term of both performance and true sportiness (couldn't think of another word, sorry), since ...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

It's an interesting point, especially regarding the 41% threshold. In my case, I was recently doing the sums on taking a lower paid job elsewhere (in Scotland), and actually once I started plugging in the numbers, I was surprised that I wasn't as much out of pocket every month when you had salaries ...

Re: Gatwick Drone Chaos

There was a chap on BBC Breakfast this morning very enthused about options for drone denial, mainly as he worked for the company that sold the tech.. Christmas has came early for them!

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

I haven't seen anything on an annual levy but the Greens and SNP both want to to away with the 'unfair' Council Tax. If they do, it'll probably be replaced with the 'unfair' AN Other Tax. The more 'unfair' tax is, IMO, the increase income tax base rate last year, plus the two instances of failing t...

Re: S3 suspension options

For anyone really interested in fine tuning the steering aspect of the car, Spitfire have just released their variable ration steering arm kit (which allows increased camber, use of rose-joints etc.) Not cheap, but if you fancied playing with the steering ratio, much quicker than replacing the steer...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Be interesting if the slave could be the culprit - what sometimes happens when an engine is mated to the gearbox using an adaptor plate (not sure how thick, perhaps 15-20mm typically), the slave cylinder runs out of stroke (as the g'box input spline and hence slave bearing are further from the clut...
