This may sound strange, but have you had the new battery checked? I replaced the battery on my girlfriends earlier this year and the new battery couldn't maintain charge.

I would give MSAR a call, the guy is really helpful and they are a Scroth supplier.
However he advised me against using a bolt on harness bar. I ended up with a wrap round harness and bar and bought the plastic grommets, for the two harness holes in the seat.
