Re: Sad news about an SEr

I'm in complete shock! I had known Phil since high school. When I stayed in Blair we Subaru'd and cycled together. When he found out I'd gotten an Elise, I think he was more excited than I was. When it then turned out to be the worst car I'd ever owned, I'm sure he was more gutted than I was :D My t...

Re: Ardent Red 14plate Elise Dundee

Anything we can help with here, or is it all warranty stuff? Would you replace it with another one? :-| It's all warranty stuff. The wife's loving it... You know a mate of mine called George Turnbull, who also works at a Fire Station and lives out in the direction of Couper Angus? ( don't think he ...

Re: Ardent Red 14plate Elise Dundee

Rossybee, I work at a Fire Station in Dundee but live out in the direction of Coupar angus.

Graeme, Ownership's going reasonably ok. I'll be honest, the initial phase of issues were resolved but I do however need to make a phone call to book in for the 4, possibly 5 new/reoccurring problems. :(

Is it just me?...

...or has anyone else bought an Elise (new or otherwise, new in my case) and 6 months in been utterly, utterly ***kin' p!ssed off with it? So far; I've been stuck inside it (inner door release) Been unable to listen to the radio (aerial) Gotten wet (a few leaks) Been unable to use the drivers window...

Re: Top Gear Christmas Special,

At close to 20 years old it certainly proved more reliable than my 6 month old Elise!...
I can live in hope.

The same old programme format with the (despite all the press about it a while back) rather unexpected ending. Truth be told I'd completely forgotten about all the fuss they caused.

Re: body shop for repair and spray dundee ?

Don't think I would go anywhere else!! I was in there a couple of weeks ago chatting about painting my Ultima side scoops but he put me onto someone to wrap them in c/f. I am sure he didn't mention retiring tho ;) That's what always amuses me, it's not always about bringing the jobs in, collecting ...

Here's the split as seen on the inspection cam.

Can only assume it's worse now 'cos it's twice as loud and rattley

5 month old Elise sounds like 20 year old Transit

I'm at the stage where I'm embarrassed to drive my new Elise around and my wife now refuses to drive it as it sounds like a hunk of junk. I had the 'Performance Pack' upgrade fitted at MMC before delivery which included the air box and back box mods. 5 months and 4k miles later and the back box is f...

Heard and saw this lot going through Blairgowrie whilst I was out cycling. A nice collecting to be cruising around!

Was the Exige a roadster?
If so, it was the same pair I saw heading to Dunkeld. I was the lycra clad cyclist giving them a smile and wave.

Providing own oil for service

Hi All,

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to start fracking in grounds of the house! :D
My Elise is due to go in for it's 1k mile service soon and I have access to a trade account to acquire oil. I know MMC use Mobil 1 but which one am I looking at for my 1.6 Elise?

Cheers,

Paul.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Delighted with how the spec. came together. The wife had her first drive in it today. A little tentative to start with but she'll soon get used to it.
