None of that bl...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Yes Scotty, currently as it stands: Botched clutch replacement by Haytons at approx £3.5 retail (they footed that bill) Inspection, resolution of all the faults left by Haytons by Craig, Storage and new master cylinder is probably £1-1.5K (Finance co footing this) Cost to resolve the remaining issue...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

After a long conversation with finance co on Friday we are still no further forward and no resolution. My position has shifted slightly with the focus on time now given driving season is close. Seems the rejection process is proving difficult and could drag on yet, Haytons apparently just won’t enga...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

I’ve no doubt Craig would get to the bottom of it but next step is clam off engine out to get at the clutch to investigate further. Given all the ‘presents’ Haytons have left thus far I can only assume there are more waiting for when the engine and box are separated. Given the time it’s taken to get...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Just back from Craig’s after getting the X5 MOT’d (passed which is a miracle as I’m convinced it’s cursed...but that’s another story) Exige is still not sorted, master cylinder has helped and improved but in Craig’s words ‘it’s still not right’ back in the hands of the finance company now (who seem ...

Re: Watch lovers?

I’m a recent Apple Watch fud, it’s been a tough shift from a Tag Aquaracer 500m Ceramic which is now for special occaisions. My main motivation was for sport and fitness tracking as I was wearing my Suunto Spartan a lot more which is hideous for a daily watch. So I got my self a stainless black seri...

Re: Takata Airbag recall

Ive not been in for a while maybe a few years as no longer live in the hallowed homeland, plus I'm not allowed an STi, but last time I was Brian was wandering round. I used them for basically everything on most of my cars bar main dealer servicing on the newer non Subaru stuff. I loved how trusting ...

Re: Takata Airbag recall

Apparently My X5 is affected, not a peep from BMW.

I’ve had a few Subaru’s and the dealer was probably the best experience I’ve had from a car dealer. S and S Services Ayr.

Finance company have authorised the replacement clutch master cylinder and Craig is progressing. Should know if it’s the master later next week when tested.

Also a bit of a let-off for the original dealer.
I doubt it, Finance company will likely seek to reclaim its losses. Dealer probably THINKs its off the hook, but I doubt they are.

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Todays update, finance company have paid Craig Moncreiff to inspect the vehicle and as was expected the repair was shoddy with numerous problems / errors evident following the clutch job. Its back to the finance company now to see what they want to do, Craig recommends new master cylinder then test ...
