Re: Cam reprofile for beginner and children
This is the thread where the author of that book is involved in the discussions regarding regrinding camshafts for the GTA engine https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-gta/539873-jim-k-gta-performance-camshafts-group-buy.html I think a 10mm inlet cam was initially trialled then followed by a 10.3mm i...

Re: Cam reprofile for beginner and children
Yours is the 'Bussone' 3.2 litre engine though no? Does that chart not show comparisons of the different cam profiles for the 3 litre Busso? This book could be of interest: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=m61X0ZCo6EoC&lpg=PP1&dq=Alfa+V6+performance&pg=PP1&hl=en#v=onepage&q&f=false (Chapter 15 Ca...

Have you spoken to any of the Alfa experts like Dan at Autolusso in the Lakes branch? Super knowledgeable chap about the GTA engine and tuning options.

Re: New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..
So another small update for anyone still awake. Apparently my oil leak wasn't really anything significant and LB sorted it. Oil was dribbling down a threaded plug in the cylinder head when the engine was running but because it was behind the cam wheels it wasn't obvious where it was coming from on ...

Re: I finally got one! (Edinburgh based)
Welcome Stu, that looks mean in Nautilus Blue and with that stance on the Nitrons.
Yep it's good to have a car that you can use and enjoy and not be too precious about, good choice
Servicing wise I really rate Dreadnought garage in Callander but that's a trek for you perhaps.

Re: Boness Revival hillclimb
Okay thanks for the feedback Duggie, good to hear it's a worthwhile trip. I'm probably going to be tight with time so getting my car on the stand might be difficult though worth giving Jim a heads up to see if I can turn up for some of the day.

Boness Revival hillclimb
This is on in a couple of weekends time on 31 August and 1 September. I've never been, is it a worthwhile day out? Looks like a good mix of cars from many eras, some footage makes the track look a little tight and slow though. Wondered what opinions are on the event?

Re: NC500 Bad Press
Did it autumn 2017. Traffic was ok. Like Campbell I'll stick to west and NW, maybe clockwise as far as tongue next time then straight south . That will be the SJ500 starting Glasgow west end and up to Fort Bill That's what I did as a route with my brother last year early summer on the advice of the...

Dreadnought Garage - Thumbs up
Brilliant service from the folks at Dreadnought, sorted my Exige super quick after getting it recovered there when it decided to nearly wobble it's crankshaft pulley off. New belts, crankshaft pulley and backup and running with minimal fuss and all done for super good value. Couldn't be happier with...

Re: Leven track day at Knockhill Thursday 18th April
On an old S1 I had the battery light come on at the hairpin, pulled in immediately and as I stopped in the pit garage heard a clank, clank which was the pullley falling off... I do find it odd how this can happen if the bolt is torqued up correctly in the first place. The guys at Dreadnought have r...
