Re: Super lap Scotland

Really is a very low bar to entry. You need race number stickers, transponder (may be zip-tied on), obvious protective clothing for driver, tires to regulation (check the small print, but unless running slicks on a roadcar, should be ok!) and that's about it. Safety cage not needed; can enter with n...

Elise S3 supercharger boost leak - repair/replace/upgrade

I wonder if anyone has had a similar issue or has an ideas other than new OEM supercharger? I've been in the process getting the RRR Engineering ~300hp upgrade kit, which includes revised SC pulley. We got all the fitting done, but was down on power on the dyno. Smoke test revealed a boost leak from...

Re: S3 suspension options

Ordered a custom set of Nitrons from Hofmann's in the end. Getting better 46mm bodies only usually available on the [expensive!] 3-way ones, but with just 1-way adjustment like the Club Sport for pretty similar price. 475/650 springs and built with near-normal ride height in mind. That, plus Pilbeam...

Re: S3 suspension options

Anyone know how much the Niton Club Sports lower ride height by? Considering them, but pretty close to scraping the splitter getting into and out of the garage already!

Re: S3 Elise S engine mods

Not looking for leaps-and-bounds (which may push me into next group anyhow), but from where I'm sitting 0.5 sec a lap I quite a lot! I recall one SLS round this year when 3 of us were within hundredths! 10-15% better power is just what I'm after. Allegedly there's a programmable ECU on it's way, so ...

Re: S3 Elise S engine mods

Well, there’s this Komo-tec: https://komo-tec.com/Shop/en/Elise/MK3-Toyota-2011/Power-phases/Phase-ZR265-Upgrade-43hp-25Nm-Elise-S-1-8-2ZR.html Basically what I was thinking of with new pulley, although looks like they didn’t need uprated injectors. I already have a 2bular full system, but no ideal ...

Re: S3 Elise S engine mods

Robin - thanks! Yes, the car is at Craig’s on far too regular a basis. :( The logistics might be another matter, but very generous offer! Better first check I don’t have a TRD one already ... ;) On ECU, I’ve heard (from Craig and Jim at 2bular) that’s it’s a bugger. That may be where it all falls do...

S3 Elise S engine mods

I’ve the 220 Cup Elise, already with 2bluar full system, dyno’ed at ~240bhp with no remap. Looking for about another 20bhp. Anecdotally, smaller supercharger pulley and updated injectors would be the sensible next step, presumably then needing a remap. Sounds about right? Suggestions or experience a...

Re: Where are you getting your tyres from?

Would totally recommend Avon ZZS. Also got on well with ZZR, which are a bit gripper in the dry, but not in the Blue Book for what I've been doing, so scrutineers made me downgrade! ;) Both excellent anyhow.

Re: Lightweight battery

Very in-depth Robin! I was somewhat reticent on Lithium batteries, as I'd heard a lot of concerns. I did my homework and in the end, I thought many of them could be put down to lack of care and mistakenly treating them the same as a traditional battery, so decided the only way to find out for sure w...
