Re: Collecting Cars Exige 430

Collecting Cars in general are quite expensive I think. Some nice hardware passes through but nothing jumps out as being a steal compared to market value. Add in buyers premium and some look like they would have been better off buy from a dealer.

Re: SE Pony Express - Edin area to Black Isle?

:thumbsup, down in Edinburgh next week back up the road on Friday, could meet Graham somewhere over the weekend to hand over if he wants. Elgin/Forres would be OK for me.

Re: Collecting Cars Exige 430

Nice car but wouldn't say the buyer got a bargain. People that really want an exige Cup struggle to justify that sort of outlay. £25k off new price in 2 years , that is pretty average depreciation. Wouldn't have been much more on a forecourt.

Re: Pressure Gauge Repairs

Probably cost more to repair and recalibrate a small gauge. The process is the same regardless of the size and accuracy of a gauge. Correct or reset zero adjust for span check for scale calibrate on a small 2" gauge span and scale aren't always adjustable so the gauge is junk but you would still pay...

Re: Evija

F1 speeds in a straight line is one thing, F1 speeds round a corner something else entirely. No doubt it will be quick, be interesting if anyone gets their hands on one to do a review.

Re: Lotus' last combustion-engined sports car incoming

Big Oils problem has always been that they are very resistant to change. Last rig I worked on was near the pinnacle of the technology in drilling, missing few bells and whistles like multi machine interface and some other bits and bobs, but was at best a 10 year old design. That said anything they d...

Re: Lotus' last combustion-engined sports car incoming

Something like this is more the answer than batteries.
also one of the many associated news articles here.
Why this didn't generate a lot more interest I don't know, other than if successful it would render Eion Musk's giga-factories redundant.

Re: Lotus' last combustion-engined sports car incoming

I guess I am still very sceptical about the whole batteries are the answer thing. I just see it as another big business opportunity to make money. I guess history will judge if it was the right direction or not.

Re: Lotus' last combustion-engined sports car incoming

Charging stations are well and good if the manufacturers develop a standard connection. At the moment there are several different types as I understand it and different voltage systems also. That certainly makes the required infrastructure much more difficult to implement. Isn't it Porsche that have...

Re: Exige V6 prices

It will be interesting to see if V6 price continue above S2 prices in the long term. You can pay more for an S1 than an S2 now with low milage, original S1's commanding some very strong money.

Re: 111R rebuild continued .......

Finally got round to fitting the brake kit. Fairly straight forward job. Clamp the reservoir hoses, remove brake hoses, remove old calliper and disc re-fit is reverse of removal making sure you line up the new hose and banjo so as not to induce a twist in the line. Torque up the bolts and bleed the ...
