Golf R - £25K, all the car you ever need (95% of the time)
Lotus 311 - £73K - the other 5%
Canyon Spectral - £2K, for putting on top of the Golf (and I had no money left!)

Bit optimistic on the Canyon price there Ali

Get your finger out young man. By the way if you need a spare set of wheels at any point I have a set in my garage I could sell you for a small fee......

The rubber on them is a little old but the wheels only have very light 'KH gravel rash'.

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

Had a phase 3 182 and chopped its for a 197, biggest mistake I ever made. 182 was a great little car, 197 was the complete opposite.

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

We had an ST, previous model to the current. Great wee car but to small inside and we tired of the ride very quickly. Great when you want to go for a blast but it is on the firm side when you are not. So chopped it for a Golf R and it would rank as one of the best all round cars I have every owned. ...

Re: CUP 220 - S CUP or Exige v6

There is no wrong decision here, they are both good cars with their own strengths and weaknesses. It all depends what you are wanting the car for and how much you a prepared to spend. Everyones opinion will differ, D likes his Exige I prefer the Elise, I have had both as well. Buying new is over-rat...

Re: CUP 220 - S CUP or Exige v6

I know, but it was talking about new or newish Elises especially cups and early V6 exige. Don't get me wrong I would love a Cup 430 but at that money there would be a lot of alternatives ahead of the cup.

Re: CUP 220 - S CUP or Exige v6

But big disadvantage you can’t take the roof off an Evora :( Elise is talked about for lightness/nimbleness vs S3 Exige. But does the Exige have more stability at speed and in fast sweeping bends (eg North Scotland typical roads) than a later Elise does ? I know James talks about his Elise Cup aero...

Re: How do you consume F1?

That is the other thing, it really isn't worth the expense any more. With Sky it costs £15 for just the F1 channel or at leats the same to get all the sports/movie channels and F1 free. This will be the last season where that is happening will switch to NOW TV when our contract runs out and dump Sky...

Re: 111R rebuild continued .......

That makes 2 of us :damnfunny The pace of evolution will not be as fast as it was originally as I still have a house to finish but we will see where this goes. Do have a few ideas up my sleeve but again time and funds will dictate much of what I may or may not do. Just to be clear it is still a very...

If you haven't seen the original story about this car then you can catch up h...
