Re: Can SE help you through the Credit Crunch?

I'll add to this thread though never thought that it would be anything I could contribute too. Some will know but after 30 years in oil & gas I was released last year at the start of the pandemic, combination of rig out of work bidding for work that dried up due to travel restrictions. I had half h...

Re: Lotus teaser/launch update link

Basic 911 without extras is £84k. Remember going in to Murrays and seeing a Lotus (430gt?) with a £121k price tag on it. Kinda splitting hairs, nobody ever bought a 911 without any options on it. But even at £84k for a base model is extremely ambitious. Where are these base prices coming from? The ...

Re: 111R rebuild continued .......

Well it turns out that the headlights I sent for re-coating have disappeared in the post. Will have to see if they turn up in the next week but as of now looking at 2 x new complete headlight units as parts aren't available separately.

Re: Lotus teaser/launch update link

according to Evo prices start at 911 money, bye bye Elise market and traditional ownership enthusiast base . Time for Mazda to do a 250 bhp MX5. Isn't the cheapest 911 now £100k? Bit strong for a base Lotus or top end for that matter. Basic 911 without extras is £84k. Remember going in to Murrays a...

Re: 111R rebuild continued .......

The elises problem is headlight height primarily. They paper bright enough just not enough throw. The only one that had anything like decent headlights was my Evora but even that pales next to the golf. Best I've had were our RRS with LED headlights or the R8 which were phenomenal.

Time to do a few jobs on the elise. The clam needs re-shiming as the door is catch the side panels and the main beam headlights need re-coated. Always really liked this car. Even when it was Azure Blue Image viewtopic.php?t=44951 Would be amazing if another (fourth!!) SE member took ownership Image Got me thinking...which other cars have been sold on within the group and “kept in the family”? 2 categories: - sold and still with us - sold to...

Re: Secret features in cars

On our golf you just sweep your hand past the door handle and it locks. No need to touch the handle and works first time 90% of the time. I love keyless entry wouldn't dream of disabling it.

Have car play so just have to say hey Siri and it wakes up Siri.
