Sold 2018 Range Rover Evoque SD4 HSE Dynamic

A sudden decision to buy something else means the Evoque is up for sale. We've had it 3 years, mainly over covid so light on miles at 32k and as there were no plans to sell it until last week, it has transferable Land Rover extended warranty (for a private sale) and tyres and brakes have recently be...

Re: So I bought a Lotus

WOW a rare beast, congratulations and enjoy.

I had my S1 exige for 13 years, mostly great fun. Whats up with the throttle - sticky / intermittent / engine related? Lots of experience around, here and via exiges.com.

Re: Silverstone Classic Festival

Car clubs can get special deals and display passes. I had booked to go with the McLaren owners this year, but can't fit everything in this summer so decided to sacrifice the classic. Definitely another one staying on the to do list.

Re: Tyre Fitting In Aberdeen

Tawse fit used tyres you supply but not new ones. They did match an online price for 911 tyres when I asked them to quote, so can offer a good price if you ask. Motorwerks are fine although the access is not suitable for the 12c. Tyre devotion couldn't supply the tyres I was after last time and woul...

Re: Tyre Fitting In Aberdeen

I've just bought tyres for the 12c from black circles, fitted by I&K in Inverurie (at the service centre next to Morrisons. Mine were going on a spare set of wheels, so I just dropped them off, but otherwise they book you a slot. Obviously not there core business, but they took real care to get them...

I'm not in a desperate rush, but I suspect he'll want it gone in the next couple of weeks.

Courier long shot

I've acquired a new diffuser, but it's in Manchester! Delivery to Aberdeen is easy enough, but it is Carbon and the guy is not confident wrapping it well enough to courier. So just thought I'd check if anyone happened to be passing Manchester heading North with an estate or SUV or van. It's pretty b...

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

I had my S1 for 13 years and for the first 10 it was fantastic. For the last 3 it felt like I had become the custodian of a future classic, which comes with positive and negatives. In the end the car was probably in the best condition it had ever been in under my ownership so I decided that was the ...

This is the Netgear POE switch I use for networked cameras, but I'm not sure if that's exactly what you are after.

Looks identical to my late neighbours. In touch originals do exist. He was a retired mechanic and took it out 4 or 5 times a year.

Re: The great gearbox debate ......

DSG is a great tool, but I agree with the general view there is a time and a place. My first DSG was in the S4, it made 300 odd hp feel more like 400+. Even on a 170 bhp diesel you get a lot of benefit. However I just spent the day driving the old 911, a quirky G50 manual, it's a physical experience...

Re: Insurance Rant

Did you try NFU? If you have no recent claims they are great. Getting the quote is a long winded process on the phone, but it is well worth it and once you've got 1 car insured the rest is much easier. My mate has a 110 full off-road spec and halted his insurance going to NFU. Caveat is that if you ...

Re: Collision Damage Waiver Insurance

I've never had a claim, but as usual there are a mixed bag of online comments. For me there are enough positive reviews to suggest they'll payout if you follow the claims process correctly. There are always negative comments from those motivated to post.

I've used insurance4carhire for years, covers the excess, burst tyres, broken windows etc. As many rentals as you want up to 30days per rental. £40-£50 per year dependent upon Europe or world wide coverage. http://www.insurance4carhire.com/?refID=2120&subRefID=0&curID=GBP&langID=1&mkwid=sBQPqefzl_dc...
