Range Rover L322 Experience

Hi, With the Defendee sold and awaiting for the Series 2a to be delivered, we have been looking around for a vehicle that would allow us to enjoy the country life a little bit more plushly than the Defender did, transport the dogs easily and not have to worry about luggage space for a week or 2 away...

Re: Anyone bought or sold a car privately recently?

I put the Defender up for sale just after lockdown happened. I did get a number of people interested although they fell into 2 camps: 1) Ridiculous offers which were even worse than WBAC and thought that I was desperate to sell - even though this was clearly stated on the ad that it was not the case...

Re: Advice - post car sale

Rawsco, Yep it crazy at the moment with new car prices Was on the Land Rover configurator for the new Defender 90 to see what it would cost, not going particularly crazy I ended up at £67k [emoji51] Ow wonder used cars are going up if it costs this amount to get into a new car, never mind what happe...

Re: Advice - post car sale

Ian, Probably bumped up the price as the residuals have been increasing. If you have an Autotrader account, you can enter your reg/mileage and it gives you an indication of the price you would expect. I do this every month (just to compare it against the previous RS4 to see whether I would have gain...

Re: Out with the new and in with the old

Possibly not as the car was waxoyled previously. So may not have been found for a while. Suppose the fact its a historical vehicle and not subject to an MOT means that something like this could go unnoticed. I am probably in their goods book anyway. Someone contacted me about my car post the deal an...

Re: Out with the new and in with the old

Just had a phone call from LR Motors today. Part of the plan was to Waxoil the chassis to preserve it in the future. When they were performing the preparation work they have discovered the chassis is not in a very good state and is beyond repair - and certainly nothing they would not send out to a c...

Out with the new and in with the old

After a lot of contemplation during lockdown and putting the Defender up for sale (which generated lot of enquiries but mostly chancers who thought I needed to sell). Decided that life is too short and took the plunge on an old series. During the summer staycation I had a chat with the owner of Twis...

Re: Tut the Legend

I still have the Diablo. Although I still have the house on the borders, I now live in Kent doing a property conversion. It is nearing completion. :D Mass, Great to hear from you. Some of my most favourite memories are popping up to Knockhill for pax laps. Must admit that Tut's and your pax definit...

Re: Is it like riding a bike?

Hope it does not have the original Pirelli P Zero's (they were lethal on an S1) [emoji3] More likely the Geo as suggested, can remember when Willie at CLCM had an off day and mucked up my S1 geo and I nearly did a 180 beside Arnold Clark. Enjoy the new motor, your post also brought back good memorie...

Re: Advice - post car sale

Have a look on Resolver.com It is the Matin Lewis companion site which allows you to raise complaints and has a number of templates. Advantage is that it records all correspondence and provides the response times as to when you can escalate etc. Used it a number of times with warranty claims and bee...

Re: Advice - post car sale

Not had this but I would be tempted to reject the car as not as described.

The VW warranty is pretty cheap (we were £330ish to renew on the Golf GTi) so its worth it for the small outlay and additional piece of mind.

Best of luck getting it resolved

Re: Craig Moncrieff thank you.

Another great service from Craig. Bought some galvanised mud flap brackets for the Defender as the originals well looking well tatty. Was going to aerosol the brackets myself but CMC took my spray cans and did that job and fitted the brackets as well. Fantastic service as always. George Sent from my...
