Re: MOT Aberdeenshire

Thanks, I'll see if he can do it while I wait. My main concern is someone not familiar with them when it comes to jacking front and rear, also someone with size 12s kicking the door getting in and out. It's survived 24 years without that happening.

MOT Aberdeenshire

Who would you take an S1 to in the shire for an MOT ?. For the past 21 years I've taken mine to the same place in Stirling but can no longer do so. Has to be somewhere I can just wait for it to be done.

Re: Steelesport Glasgow

I have a 1969 Triumph that came from Dicksons, I didn't know they were also Lotus until I saw this advert though.

Re: Machine shop query

That looks good on the petals. The D1s will fit a 7" disc as per my Cooper, just clear of the caliper, but I presume you will go for 7.5", not sure about the rose petals. I haven't been able to find any D1s local unfortunately but if you hear of any please let me know. Where were the set in Stirling...

Re: Machine shop query

Thanks Woody, I have some original caps but they're scrap. The machined aluminium centres look far better in my opinion, the originals are a cheap plated affair. Love the rose petals as well. The D1 is the quintessential 60s/70s alloy. I got a set for my Cooper, restored them then picked up another ...

Machine shop query

Does anyone know any small machine shops, possibly around Aberdeen but doesn't necessarily have to be, that could machine some aluminium centre caps for these Dunlop D1 alloys ?. I'm restoring a set of wheels just now and don't have any centres, the ones you can buy are plastic rubbish. I've done tw...

Re: Any Drone Experts ?.

Decided to build a robot to prowl around the garden to scare them off. I can use a perimeter wire arrangement as per robot lawnmower combined with motion detection and collision avoidance. Might even mount a dummy bird of prey on it with flapping wings. The world of raspberry pi is quite interesting...

Re: Any Drone Experts ?.

Yes the pest control guy did say shooting them was the best solution, or get a dog as a deterrent. I guess I'll just try some of the off the shelf products to see if any of them are effective. Fox urine pellets seem to work for some folk, although they look a bit hard to swallow :o
