Re: An old friend - diary of a Lotus owner [pic heavy]

The silver wasn't really doing it for me and it was getting a bit rough around the edges. Glad you approve, and that you're not posting "what have do done to my old car" type post. I remember feeling a bit sad when I saw one of Erica's old mx5s and it was bashed, not sure how i'd feel if I saw a tr...

Re: Fuel tank gone?

Hey all, The Elise has been neglected of late and I've now got a bit of a whiff of petrol now and then. I have also lost the 'phsss' when I open the fuel filler... Has the fuel tank rotted through? Any other places to check first? Any ideas where I might find a new tank? Ta Rich When my S1 lost the...

111R Coolant drain/replacement

Hi, Can someone tell me if the coolant drain/replacement procedure is the same or similar for the 111R to the S1? Reason I ask, is because I have the S1 service manual, but don't yet have the 111R manual. Would be even better if someone could point me in the direction of the required service manual!...

Re: Tayside Coachtrimming

I am looking to have my S1 seats reconditioned. I have been up to Tayside Coachtrimmers, and they said they have already done Elise seats in the past. Is it anyone from SE ? As i would like a little feedback on the quality of the workmanship. Both seat bolsters, and new foam in the seats. Also the ...

A thankyou to Ali @ SLS

For trekking up to Dundee to fix my broken engine mount, and a few other wee niggly things while he was at it, including a bloody annoying squeak thats been driving me nuts for months!

Re: Windowscreen replacement

I had mine replaced a few months ago. Think it was Autoglass, can't remember. Anyhoo, they insisted I took it to Murrays (no one else) to have the clam removed. It was all taken care of by my insurance co, but I made sure by phoning them up first. Only had to pay the £70 windscreen excess.

Re: S1 exhaust varieties

I replaced the standard exhaust on my old S1 with the Brooke Kensington job. Had a lovely rich, rorty tone and a nice howl when you're 'on it' but was perfectly civilised when just cruising along. I loved it.

Re: Stolen MTB - no more cycling for me ! (FALC)

Sympathy mate! I'd be gutted if my MTB was stollen. Coincidentally, a mate of mine recently asked for my advice on buying a bike for £200-£300 and after a bit of research, this caught my eye: http://www.feltbicycles.com/mtb-spec.php?id=4 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/felt/q520-2008-mountain-bi...

Re: Locking wheel nuts

If you phone MMC parts with your chassis number, they can order you up the correct key within a couple of days. I've had to do it more than once as they are clearly made of toffee! Binned them shortly afterwards!

DaveG: saw you at around 5 tonight, you were turning left off the Perth road, I was sitting in Erica's mx5 having Lotus envy ;) I saw another 2 s2's on the way home too!
