Re: Help please - Rutting Deer!

S1 values
What's the general consensus as to what 'might' happen with S1 values over the next, say, 5 years?
I have a nagging feeling that they'll rise but maybe that's wishful thinking!

Re: G-Techniq Smart Glass
G-Techniq is, in my view, the most overhyped range of products on the market. Some of the range works, but they need careful application: warm, dry environment for 8-12hours to cure properly. The instructions supplied are poor and miss out, in my experience, some key points. A far, far superior rang...

It didn't work as I added a semi colon on the end of it..... :blackeye http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/auto-finesse-oblitarate.html Petrol jet washers: fine. They generally have a similar pressure output to electric ones so just the usual rules about not getting too close to paint, especiall...

Re: Help - Atom advice
I always do wheels first; that way any splatter of brake dust gets removed in the wash. Next a rinse is about 10-12 minutes at least. Hand wash: 15-20 minutes: any faster and you'll be missing bits or working too fast so you induce wash marring. Then rinse for maybe 6 or 7 minutes and drying (where ...

Re: Help - Atom advice
Seems to keep it nice and clean and takes 10-15mins. How long should it take to clean a car even without the wax? I mean I always aim for getting three done in under an hour. (And that includes putting away the pressure washer etc) To properly wash and do the wheels, I'd set aside at least an hour ...
Re: Scratches
Mini will have pretty hard paint so you'll have your work cut about by hand! If you have some spare time these two guides are pretty good: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/what-does-polishing-do.html http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/what-polish-should-i-use.html Get a coffee before you...
Re: Scratches
Yes indeed, that'd be perfect.
That way, if the scratch removal has been performed by the glazing oils in the Mer, you won't have your hard work undone as soon as it rains!

RAV4 with the D4D engine.
Strong (it's a Toyota), cheap to run, hold their value and capable of a surprising amount off road.
I am also on the look out for one of these!

Re: Scratches
I don't post in "Car Care" often. Odd, that, given it's all I'm even remotely qualified to do to my car! Anyway, we had some serious scratches down the pax side of the family barge from our exploits on the narrow lanes of Cornwall this summer. Really thought a machine burnish was going to be requir...

2007 Merc M320CDI
After almost a year of being sensible, the time has come for a change. 2007 Mercedes ML320CDI, 3litre V6 diesel, 7 speed auto. Obsidian Black, half leather/half alcantara grey interior, 73k. Air sprung, usual extras for these things; electric pretty much everything, Xenons, etcetera. Great thing; de...

Re: plastic light cover restore..
Plastics are pretty soft and can go hazy if too aggressive a polish is used so a specific plastic polish as above should be good or for a conventional polish, something quite mild will work. 3M Scratch Remover is commonly available and cheap. Avoid Meguiar's Ultimate Compound as it'll be too aggress...

Re: 4x4 choice...
A good friend is looking to buy a 4x4 for his missus which will be used as main family car with 2 kids. He's asked me about a 2008 Merc ML320 Sport at £16k - anyone have or had one? Views appreciated :thumbsup I have one. And I'm selling it. But only because I want something fast & silly. Good jeep...
