Re: Another anyone know this car....

Looks like a nice but expensive example. I sold my 111S (Dec 05/55 plate) for £14750 a couple of months ago and felt that was a stiff price as I only paid a wee bit more than that to buy it (2 years beforehand from a Lotus dealer, prepped and warrantied). At that kind of money I would try to stretch...

Re: Won't be using HiQ in Livingston again .. grrr

Was that the HiQ place at Bellsquarry Andy ? If so, I too had a bad experience with them/Blackcircles a few months ago. No J turns in the car park, but they did manage to make a right royal cock up of fitting a couple of Kumho's to the Vectra. To begin with, they had no record of my order and the ap...

Re: F1's greatest drivers

If Senna was still alive today, would he be ranked above Schumacher ?

I've always suspected not.

Re: Circuit de Catalunya F1

Agree with DJ. I was there in 1997 and also had seats in Banc de Sabadell. Wasn't a spectacularly brilliant F1 experience but that was more down to the soulless track and lack of atmosphere than anything else. Certainly didn't see anywhere else that looked like a better vantage spot than Banc de Sab...

Re: Damaged Defendall

I cut a similar sized piece out of my defendall using a surgical scalpel. No paint damage, easy peasy.

You're welcome to borrow the scalpel if you like.

Re: Opinions on this S1?

Good luck with Snippersgate. They had a Boxster in stock recently that I was very keen to buy. Spoke to the guy twice about it and twice he was supposed to call me back. I'm still waiting on his call. If that's how they treat a (potential) paying customer then I wouldn't like to see what their after...

Re: NLC - Friendly Porsche MOT garage in glasgow

Another school of thought.....if he took the car to someone who doesn't have an intimate knowledge of 944's then maybe it will have a better chance of passing. Expert eyes are maybe only going to pick up more faults ?

If it did fail I'd be straight along to Motortune for the repairs though :thumbsup

Re: How to sort rusty wheelarches on an E46?

In my experience, the corrosion warranty will only be fit for bum wiping purposes unless it's had the bodywork religiously inspected every year at a BMW approved bodyshop.

Re: New 5 series revealed

Does diddly squat for me! :withstupid The E39 was BMW's finest hour for me and still looks fresh 13 years on. I think BMW in general have lost the plot a bit in recent years. Ugly, pointless niche models aside they seem to be drifting away from the simple 'ultimate driving machine' philosophy, upon...

Re: Breaker's in Edinburgh area

My brother in law is looking for some 2nd hand mudflaps for his car and has tried a number of car breakers up in Aberdeen area where he stays. Never heard of anyone buying 2nd hand mudflaps before. I know Aberdonians are tight by nature :blackeye , but surely he could stretch to a set of ne...

Re: Elise R32

"We strongly recommend a brake upgrade." Not 'arf. Don't see the attraction of this upgrade myself. Poor bhp/litre, poor tuning potential and the centre of gravity of the car must be drastically altered. I'm surprised the Rover 1.8t hasn't been dropped into a few more Elises. Must be a relatively st...
