Re: Tut the Legend

I had to log in here to check what I thought I'd just seen elsewhere, saddened to hear the news but I don't think anyone could live life as much as Tut... Doesn't really seem all that long ago we first met at Knockhill in 2003, and he still managed to evolve his cars so much since then! Raising a gl...

Post this on seloc and see what happens  Funny man! Both the kits for the Elise are height adjustable and damping adjustable, though the Gold seems to have better adjustment. The range of adjustment is really good, from too soft to too hard (for me anyway), so there is a just right setting. I ...

I've used the Black Diamond discs and pads on a Scirocco, I like the discs very much, but the pads are only a cheap fast road pad really. Didn't know they made pads for the Elise though.

I'd get some threaded rod and locktite it into the manifold. I did all the inlet and exhaust manifold studs on one of my scirocco's with stainless threaded rod. Makes it much easier to undo next time round

I'm not a fan of the Green Stuff pads. Cheap, but not cheerful.

My money goes on M1144 as they seem to be good at everything. They don't quite have the bite of RS42, but at less than half the price....

I had this yesterday after the track day. For some reason the pedal wasn't returning to it's full height. I noticed the pedal height before I knew about the brake lights staying on. Seemed to cure itself on a nice cool down run home, so I presumed heat or dust in the pedal pivot. Could be that it ju...

Get yourself a cheap multimeter and check the resistances from the battery to the earthing points, the actual battery voltage and the condition of the battery to starter - use a jump lead for that.

Wouldn't touch Green Stuff IIWY. A much better pad for similar money is the Mintex M1144.

I've found that plain discs are just as effective as grooved and dimpled.
