Re: S1 Audi Elise

Thanks David, yes he’s always by my side to help out with anything car or DIY related

I’ll need to rebuild the suspension etc to be able to move the car into the garage once the roof is on then will have some proper space to get cracking.

Re: Suspension refresh - sandblasting/treatment?

I’m in the middle of doing mine, it’s ready for bushes and ball joints. Had everything vapour blasted by a company in Paisley, then painted with cold galvanise and wishbones got epoxy mastic top coat. For the rest of the parts top coated in a stone chip protection. Has come out pretty well consideri...

Re: k series rebuild or honda

My 2p would be get a rebuilt bottom end if the liners have dropped, skim the head and put it all back together plus some cams/itb’s Garage wise, I’d recommend Kenneth Brown motor engineers in Hillington, they are probably the most knowledgable and competent when it comes to cars like ours. The Honda...

Yea same front and back, but the rears are angled in reverse, you can remove the lens and glue back on the right way around

I’ve staked ETH and dabble in a bit of cardano. Purely a punt, find it all fascinating and it’s here to stay for sure.

Are you coating the hub carrier extrusions?
Probably just a clear coat to stop corrosion

Stephen Curle was quoted £100 to do a full car set of wishbones.
That’s what I was expecting, maybe up to £175 with all the smaller bits.

Got the impression he didn’t want the work, first thing he said was why don’t you get them powder coated

Re: S1 Audi Elise

Bits all blasted, left the wheel bearings in to protect the inners, all being replaced anyway. Got a price to zinc coat at £50 per wishbone plus the other bits so that’s not happening. https://i.ibb.co/ys29N1H/3-F760-DE6-DDE8-475-D-ABDC-86-AAB5606-D5-B.jpg Also Nitron came back with £1250 to refurb,...
