Re: Leven VIP Invitation

I got offered £16.5k for my Elise SE (Macau Edition) S3 (2014) as a trade in for a new Elise... thats taking the pish It's the cost to change you need to look at - if they are offering discounts on the new car, they will likely "discount" / reduce the trade in value too. Works the other way - if th...

Re: Six months on

Very nice Tony - you're by far not alone in commenting on the utterly shocking service and behaviour/attitude shown by OPC Aberdeen. Ironically I'm led to believe Perth OPC is still part of the Vardy Group :blackeye I've only been to the Perth one once, not long after they'd opened last year, after ...

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

Pretty. Scary ;-) Am I the only one who thinks that is a very strong price? I was expecting a LOT less. Alfa's with a GTA badge always hold a lot of value, and they are only getting rarer. Anything with a Busso seems to be going up too. In keeping with the sendiment, every now and again, I have a l...

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

What could possibly rule out a BMW?! Me. Ali - good insight, did you try a Polo then? Ross - mk3 MINI is a munter but Mk2 not ruled out. Raws - I struggle with anything French. Ross is right, but you want the 5 door F55 not the 3 door F56 Mini. Not a great looker, but nice enough and the quality is...

Me. Ali - good insight, did you try a Polo then? Ross - mk3 MINI is a munter but Mk2 not ruled out. Raws - I struggle with anything French. I'd driven one of the old 1.8T Polos and it was a pup, tried the newer 2.0 ones before Mrs C got her Cooper S and it was comfortable but just a bit meh. Curren...

...Dom said Polo is a shrunken Golf. Just to clarify, the Polo doesn't drive anything like a Golf GTi or indeed Fiesta ST etc. Polo is pretty guff.
Was my understanding too Ali.

Regarding the rest it's really down to Ford and Renault with the ST foost/focus and RS clio/Mégane :thumbsup

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

Pleasantly surprised when I tried and F56 (current shape/3rd gen) Mini Cooper when looking for Mrs B - so much so I bought one! Hers is the 1.5t 3cyl with lots of toys. Ok, you'd need the 2.0t Cooper S as a proper "hot" hatch but I've been more than happy with the ability to sit on cruise control at...

Stuff
Can't disagree with this (even from my never-owned-a-lotus POV) - will the added cost of a V6 give more enjoyment pro-rata with the added cost over an SC?

Re: Anyone used TyreLeader?

Aye Hectyre - but agree their opening times can be limiting. When I've bought online I could never fault Camskill but to be fair it's been a loooong time since I bought tyres online. Started looking again as fancy AD08R (being replaced by AD08RS) for the Cerb as the current Goodyear F1 aren't quite ...

Re: How do you consume F1?

Ditched Sky Sports and don't miss it. Completely missed this weekend's French GP due to work (didn't even see C4 highlights) and didn't put me up or down. Seems it's becoming somewhat "meh" for me now.... You didn’t miss much. Steve. Seems to be the common theme Steve, hence my apathy :blackeye

Re: Have I done the right thing?

It's all pretty moot anyway cos Lotus and TVR aren't everyday cars, so we have to own another more useable vehicle, this negates the off-the-road theory. Jumping into Mini ownership shortly with an F56 Cooper which I'm looking forward to. 1st Mini since I sold mine about 30yrs ago :damnfunny Cost of...

Re: Anyone used TyreLeader?

Just to update this, tyres eventually turned up after 12 days (7 working days as there was a bank holiday weekend in there). All present and correct so as long as you’re not in a hurry then Tyre Leader are ok 👍🏼 Avoid Demon Tweeks like the plague. I'm coming up on 4 weeks for a pair of tyres and th...
