Re: Child seats to fit Lotus harness hole seats

I seem to recall you’re fairly local to me (I’m in Kirkcaldy) so you’re welcome to pop by and try my seat if you can’t try one from a shop.

Re: Child seats to fit Lotus harness hole seats

Maxi-cosi Rodi (not isofix) fits the harness hole seats reasonably well. It’s a bit tight to get the seatbelt in but it’s narrow enough at the bottom to fit in the seat without rubbing on the bolsters. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3766372 It also comes apart and can be used just as a booster seat...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

My understanding of the tax changes is that: * A salary less than £30K will result in less tax in Scotland than England. * A salary of £30K is about the same in Scotland and England * A salary of £45K will result in £500 more tax in Scotland * A salary of £200K will result in paying £2,500 more in ...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

Playing Devils advocate here, would you keep the 20% rate for all and just do away with the higher rate, or increase the basic rate for everyone? Believe me, there’s nobody more annoyed about the way the SNP have set the higher rate tax band in Scotland. If I lived in England I’d save enough per yea...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

I hear what you are saying Mike, and I certainly share the sentiment, however.... Basic living costs are fixed, it doesn’t matter if you’re on the dole or a lottery winner, a loaf of bread and pint of milk costs the same. The point is that once you reach a certain level of earning, every single penn...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

I’d have a hybrid system. It’s not a perfect rule but in general if you have a more expensive house you can afford to pay more so you should. But also if there are more people living in the house you use more water, generate more waste etc so you should also pay more. So why not keep the band system...

Re: Mobile Phones for kids?

R.e. The temperamental charger port, have you tried sticking a pin in it and fishing out all the pocket fluff!?

Every so often I find that the charger doesn’t ‘click’ into place like it should and a ton of fluff in the charger port is always the cause.

Re: Schumacher at 50 - BBC F1 article

The latest ‘F1 beyond the grid’ podcast is an interview with Ross Brawn about Schumacher.

Nothing particularly earth shattering but worth a listen.

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

feel penalised for working hard. Do you mean “for being rich”? The SNP are very clever politicians in the sense that they play to their audience brilliantly. They say that the majority of people in Scotland are better off under their taxation system. They fail to mention that the maximum benefit an...

Re: Take back control

Another personalised way of doing it is with these guys: https://www.carvolutioncompany.com/ Sandra got my 5 favourite cars, however they have expanded to do your entire car buying journey. Forgot about those- I got one of those prints for Kenny a few years back. Nice if you want something personal...

Re: Take back control

I’ve got some prints from https://www.remove-before.com/ and have been allowed to hang them in the kids play room and kitchen without (too much) complaint.
I particularly like the trilogy collection. :thumbsup

Re: Hullo from Stirling!!

Another yellow VX will be thinking Stirling is now in Fife :D :damnfunny How many LY's did we have in Fife at one point? I think it was maybe 5? Wish I could find the pics from some of the runs we had with them all lined up! Welcome along mate, strange to see two yellow VXs join within a week or so...

Re: New Member “Type 116”

:welcome

Lovely looking car, but then I’m a bit biased 😜

Is it an LY?

The guy that bought my LY (no 99) also worked for Aston Martin, Richard Geden his name was, although that was 10years ago so there’s a good chance he’s not there any more.
