sounds like you sold the guy a pup  It was like that when I bought it - blame the previous owner :D (note: car did not develop HGF to quite some time after it was sold on) True, in all fairness nothing else has ever gone wrong with the car and this is a common problem on elises at 47k miles - ...

Thanks folks, that's very helpful.

P.S. Mac, that coolant problem was HGF  but got it fixed for a reasonable sum.

Although if it's sticking, the clutch trunnion could be well on it's way out. It wears through (it's nylon) then the clutch pedal itself starts to wear. Bitch of a job to replace (just because you're upside down in a footwell, mind you) but better to do it right for a few quid than have to replace ...

Or you could just give the pivot bush a squirt with silicone spray (not WD 40)

I think someone replaced my clutch pedal with a cat!

My clutch pedal has been making an annoying screeching noise for some time now but it's really getting so bad I might actually have to motivate myself to do something about it. It's also a bit "jerky" but I think that's related.

Will WD40 fix this or is a part wearing out that I can replace?

Cheers

Headlight problems

Hi Busy trying to replace my headlights as the reflective surface off the old ones is rusted quite badly. Was doing great until the headlight surround (not the carrier) attached to the car just fell off, it's also snapped with corrosion. Can I get a new part from anywhere? Is this a garage job? Cheers

I think that might have been me. I was at the cinema with my wife and I remember seeing a golf who flashed his hazards at me - thought it was a warning about the specs cameras :D

Yes me again, was a busy chap this weekend. Were you in the rather nice pale blue S2 I passed on my way home?

No idea what was going on for sure with all those Police but rumour has it there was a fatal stabbing in the Keg...

A whole bunch of elises S1 and S2's driving through Peebles this evening. I passed you in my wife's Fiesta (not that anyone would take any notice of one of those) :D

Organised evening drive by any chance?

And yes Noops it probably is your old car - it's had 8 previous owners! lol :D Still running a dream and being looked after well
