Re: NIP for 82

Yikes Yep was a real disaster. Insurance on the Aygo went up almost 50% (from £110 to £170 per year :D ) Ruined my best ever insurance year too - (£110 for the year less £25 cashback from Quidco for a net £85 for the year). Tony get a classic - my Alfa just nudged into 3 digits for the first time t...

Re: Cleaner brake pads.

I put a set of CL5+ on my car last summer. Didn't notice too much brake dust (maybe I need to try harder), however; I did a wet trackday at KH in September, then some local trips. I am booked on for KH this weekend, so as the weather has brightened up I thought I would use the car a bit to make sur...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

I agree with the keep it simple and maybe discord is forcing a community in the same way phpbb does. What's resistance to using Facebook? I'd be totally happy with that. It has threading, but it's not really searchable medium. This is the issue with some pure social media solutions. They are fleeti...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

My 2C on the Discord thing is if we're looking for a 100% analogue of the forum setup, it's the tool for the job. But for most people who don't use it anyway (and I'd suggest that's most people who aren't gamers, tech focused or had a specific reason to use it for something else) it's just ANOTHER a...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

First impression - ideal, great idea. Exactly the sort of thing WA communities was set up for, I feel. It's clear that, whilst there's a very small hardcore across the internet that still use them, forums are very much yesterday's "social media" and if SE is to be more than a legacy group of old mat...

Re: Noob here!

Welcome along. S2, absolutely, if you're not used to this type of car. I'm the worlds greatest S1 supporter, had one for ten years and nearly 100k miles, a lot of that as a daily driver. However they are classic cars now and had their designed in issues from new. S2s did have a raft of improvements ...

Re: SIDC at Knockhill - Saturday 14th of Sept, 9am to 1pm

Clarification from KH for future reference The Porsche thing I heard about, that prompted this query, was a whole site hire and they ran it themselves - so their own insurance etc. Most (SIDC included) are KH run trackdays, but on behalf of organiser, so use KH insurance and rules. So 14+ still in f...

Re: SIDC at Knockhill - Saturday 14th of Sept, 9am to 1pm

He's certainly not too short, as the guidance on the site is 135cm and he's nearly 150. But Sanj says they had dropped the 14yo requirement earlier in the year, so the question to John above stands.

Down to the last few slots if anyone is interested?
John, have KH changed the pax requirements from age to 140cm+, or is that an organiser discretion thing?

Hi - sorry, we simply don't check the newbie section much, so this slipped under the radar. Best to PM one of the mods if there's an issue as that pings us a notification. Ironside has checked the functionality and the security question is working properly - the car image one. Has he managed to get ...

Re: Opinions on this car

Welcome to SE - where you based, that might help people recommend local assistance. I can't really comment on pricing as I'm out the loop there - hopefully someone else can comment. It's led a life, but they mostly all have - the benefit there is that you know most of it. "Dan Up North" gets mixed r...

Re: S1 rear window fitting

If it's the old Shugmobile (hello Steve!) then it'll have the later sloped rear window to stop the weird headlight reflections in the mirror. Can't honestly remember how the seal fits on it, but if you've got the seal for bare glass, might be wrong.

Re: Lotus UK Makes Agency Model Retail Switch Ahead Of Emira Deliveries

Long story short: Traditional method - Dealer buys stock from manufacturer and then owns it as an asset, sells on that stock (often at discount to make the sale, meaning manufacturers have no concrete pricing control and we have the dealers occasionally cutting each others throats to sell cars) Agen...
